Kane moved in and looked at the pinned crew member. He pulled out his tricorder and scanned the leg. “Multiple fractures and lacerations. But nothing to indicate we can’t get them outta here. C’mon, Dalton… give me a hand.” and he positioned himself to help Dalton clear the debris.

Kane, R&D

“Chief,” she said to Petrakos. “Can you pull her out once we get this piece of equipment lifted? It needs to be fast.” Cori shifted her position on the other side of the hunk of metal and braced her body in a stable position.

Achilleas shuffled over to a position directly in front of Hammond’s head. He stretched his hands out and urged for her to clasp his hands. “Hold my hands and when they get it moved enough that you’re loose I’ll pull you out. You’re going to be okay.”

CSO Petrakos

Hammond was barely conscious but managed a weak, “Okay,” and grabbed his hands, or at least moved her hands where he could at least grip her wrists or forearms.

“On three,” she said to Kane. “One, two… three!” Cori heaved what was essentially a hunk of metal towards her and with Kane’s help, they managed to create some clearance for Petrakos to pull the scientist out. But Cori’s arms were shaking with the effort and it was probably the most intense thing she’d asked of her new body to date.

Kane heaved along with Cori and said “Go! Get her out!”, his voice cracking with the effort of moving the debris.

Achilleas gripped Hammond’s forearms firmly and pulled as hard as he could once debris shifted. His already nasty headache flared with the exertion but he gritted his teeth and made a low roar of effort as he pulled her free,

CSO Petrakos

The trapped woman moved smoothly out from underneath the metal and was clear in only a few seconds.

Cori heaved a sigh of relief and shook out her arms, ignoring the aches. “We better get her and ourselves off this deck. GALEN? Are transporters stable enough to beam Ensign Hammond to Primary Sickbay?”

“Affirmative. Repairs have improved power stability in some areas.”

Once given the order, Hammond disappeared.
