USS Ogawa
Tendrils Through Time and Space
In his standard approach to any request from his ‘handler’ at Intel, Kane blatantly and intentionally ignored the file sent to him for at least a week. If it was important, he figured, they would throw a fit when it became an issue. They hadn’t, so it wasn’t.
When he finally decided he had enough free time and nothing better to do- and his wife was too far into her work for even him to draw her out for a bit- he went to the Secure R&D lab and sealed himself into the modified SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) and opened the request and file. When he did, he cursed loudly when he saw the icon for the Star Fleet Department of Temporal Investigations. If he hated Star Fleet Intelligence, he held a particular animosity for the Time Cops (as he so affectionately called them). He took a breath and then opened the file. Apparently they had some cross-dimensional sentient they wanted his opinion on… as if being one made him some sort of expert. He looked at the first entry, a picture.
And he started laughing hysterically.
“No… no fu<k!ng way…” he finally said when he stopped laughing. “Seriously?! Of everyone… it’s that motherf%@#er?! Because of course it is. Who else would it have been?” and he laughed some more. Yeah… this and every other universe apparently had a truly sick sense of humor. Kane didn’t even read the file. He knew the walking, talking werewolf didn’t lie to anybody and he damn sure followed whatever orders they gave him… he was a sucker like that. Kane went to the bottom of the file and wrote simply “Subject appears mostly harmless. Non security risk.” He then leaned back and thought for moment and then grinned. He opened the file and skimmed for the information he wanted and sent the file back. He then opened a message and spent several hours making sure no one would ever find who sent it or where it came from.
All it said was two words:
=/\= Hey, Warren… =/\=
