His body on auto pilot Cai stepped into her quarters. He cleared his throat and frowned. “What? No I don’t want a cupcake…I want you off my frequency.” He brandished the mini PaDD at her and pushed his electric blue hair out of his eyes. Suddenly for whatever reason he felt mildly self conscious about his hood being up over his head. He raised a hand to it but quickly diverted it from the hood to tug at the small black disk pierced in his right ear in what he hoped was exasperation.

Kenzie screamed suddenly and clapped her hands excitedly, “blue hair … do you really have blue hair, Cai Taylor? That is so cool! Is it natural? And if not, how do I get some of my own? And how did you convince whoever you are living with to let you get the blue hair? Come on … show me your blue hair, please? Show me your blue hair and … I’ll make it worth your while.” She stood coyly looking at him as she twirled a finger through her hair.

Cai blinked stupidly at the female before him, twisting her hair and batting her eyelashes. He began to feel heat rising from his neck up his face as if she embarrassed him. Stupid environmental controls must be broken in thus stupid quarters. He tried to process her questions.

“Does it look natural to you? Don’t be stupid. You can buy dye like everyone else and I didn’t ask I just did it, it’s my hair.” He chewed his lip ring and frowned annoyed for some reason now. With a sigh he pushed the hood of the hoodie down and let the longish mop of blue hair loose. “There? Happy now? Can we please fix your damned frequency now.” Girls....honestly.

“But what hue is the blue, Mr Cai Taylor,” she asked.

Cai opened his mouth to answer and found the tone high and squeaky. “Ahem..electric…” he blushed.

“A hue of electric blue,” Kenzie said, smiling at him, her dimples showing on her cheeks as she went in with her metaphorical phasers and torpedoes fully charged and loaded respectively, “that sounds catchy … someone should write a song about that perhaps, or maybe we could, Mr Cai Taylor.” Her eyes seemed to drift off as she apparently thought on that.

“Well, how do I fix the frequency, can’t you do it for me, pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase?” Kenzie asked him, a plaintive note to her voice, which was, of course totally fake, “I’m sure you’d do it much better than me. Please, Mr Cai Taylor.”

Kenzie was used to wrapping men around her little finger to get what she wanted, and right now, she wanted Cai. It worked with her father, and it seemed now it was working with her uncle, and she hoped it would also worked with Cai.

Cai blinked and reaching out for the device. “I ah..yeah I guess I can…I mean yes, give it.” He held a hand out for it.

“Thank you, Mr Cai Taylor,” Kenzie replied, and held it out to Cai. She’ accidentally’ bumped her hand on his and smiled at him again, “I really do appreciate you doing that for me, you know.”

She once again allowed the full effect of her dimples to go on him, “maybe we could get together some time, and you could let me listen to some of your favourite music, and you could listen to some of mine. I know that I have holoshows of some of my favourite artists, I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”
