Hull breaches in the vacuum of space are very serious affairs so it was no surprise that the first patients through the doors were not in very good shape. EMTs from the affected decks started beaming in the red tagged individuals hot and heavy. The first three, the worst of the worst were:

Ensign Jackson, a scientist, came in with second and third degree plasma burns over the majority of his body.

Ensign Tika Zilug, a Bajoran engineer had space damage from the freezing void before she was pulled back in and saved by the emergency shields.

Lieutenant Isizi Zh’vaahran, an Andorian security officer who heroically leapt into the gap to save Zilug, had impaled herself on floating debris, along with various other broken bones.

Brad had come out of his office into the main ward after noting that Dr. Kane and Dr. Marshall had both hared off to the primary scene. It was a good move, as the most immediate medical needs could be best seen to on site, but it did leave him rather short-handed.

While he was sure his more junior doctors were well-trained and could handle almost anything, there were still some things a more senior and steady hand would be needed for, a thought that played out as the first three cases came their way.

“Dr. T’Mara, take Jackson into surgical suite one,” he ordered a Vulcan Lieutenant. She was one who had explored surgery as a specialty at the Academy, and had qualified in it before seeking a more generalist posting.

“Dr. Klein, take Ms. Tika into Isolation 1,” he ordered a human Ensign, fresh from the Academy. “She’ll need treatment for thermal shock and oxygen therapy.”

“I’ll take Mx. Zh’vaahran into ICU1, Dr. Ch’zaraahan, you’ll assist me with species-specific biology,” he ordered, grabbing the first Andorian white-coat he saw. It was, he thought, a minor miracle that he had one to hand.

“Let’s move it, people, we’ve got lives to save!” he exhorted, setting the Sickbay into motion as he began moving towards the Intensive Care unit.
