Royal picked one up and took a bite. He smiled slightly and chewed and swallowed. “Vegetable pakora. Not bad, but not a favorite for me. We had an Indian take-away near my house in Glasgow. I have never found a pakora or paneer that comes close to theirs.”
Royal
“What sort of stuff did you eat growing up? What was the worst?” she asked before she popped another of the spiced vegetable fritter into her mouth.

Royal shrugged slightly. “Oh… the norm for where I lived. Potatoes, sausages, meat pies, loads of carrots and cabbages, a lot of mutton and lamb. The Scots love their meats.” and he chuckled. “Lots of bread from the bakery on the corner. Me and my seanair would go to the bakery every other day in the morning.” and he smiled at the memory. “Four loaves and a sweet treat for him and I.”
Royal
She loved how his eyes lit up when he gave a sincere smile. Cori wished she could see his eyes like this all the time, but then she knew it wouldn’t be quite so special. “Mom baked bread a lot, so I learned. I don’t have a huge cooking or baking repertoire, but yeasted baked goods I can do. That includes cinnamon rolls. Dad loved it with orange zest in it so that’s how I learned to make it. But… little use for cooking and baking skills on starships, and then when I couldn’t eat,” she said, picking up some sort of pinwheel pastry with cheese and spinach. It flaked beautifully in her mouth, the crunch ever so satisfying.

He grinned and said “You know… cinnamon rolls are some of my favorite things in the galaxy. The nice chewy, yeasty ones. Someone one time in the Academy brought in fried cinnamon rolls and I thought they were messing with me!” and he laughed. He picked up a pinwheel and took a bite, chewed, and made a face. “Nope. Feta isn’t my thing at all.” and he quickly washed down the bite he had taken.
Royal
“I don’t mind it actually,” she said with a grin, amused at his expression. “To be fair, while I’m supposed to have all the same tastes it’s been s long that I’m not sure if I’m just not a picky eater or my brain doesn’t know any better yet.”
She took a sip of her drink and eyed him, a glint of mischief in her eyes. “So, does this mean I need to see if I can still bake and attempt cinnamon rolls for you? Or should I practice a bunch first? I wouldn’t want to ruin them for you, given they are some of your favourite things in the galaxy and all.”
~Corinne Dalton
Royal looked at her for a moment and then blurted out “I don’t think there is anything you can do that I will think you ruined.” and then turned several shades of red. He shook his head smiled a look of self-deprecation. “Yeah yeah yeah… what can I say? I’m into you.” and he laughed.
Royal
Her smiled crept up her face, crinkling the corners of her eyes. Gods he was adorable! Cori leaned in, a playful smirk on her lips. “Well, I’m certainly not going to object. Though it does beg the question of how much I can push your buttons before you decide otherwise.” She reached out over the platter as if she might be reaching for him and simply plucked another pakora from his side.
“Your pick on our next adventurous choice.” Of course she meant food. Right?
~Corinne Dalton
He leaned forward and smiled. “If I didn’t know any better, I would say that you are teasing me. But you wouldn’t be doing that, would you?” and he took her hand in his and pulled it forward slightly and he took a bite of the pakora she held. He chewed slowly, never taking his eyes off of hers. Swallowing, he said “Because that would be.... ‘pressure’… would it not?” and then he chuckled.
Royal
There was this palpable energy between them as he took her hand as his teeth came do delicately close to her fingers. A shiver swept down her spine as her expression softened and deepened. “It’s only pressure if you feel forced to up the ante.” She gently took her hand back and popped the fitter into her mouth, letting her fingers linger just a moment before nonchalantly chewing and reaching for her drink.
“Still your turn to pick the next appetizer.”
~Corinne Dalton
Sinclair looked at her and then a mischievous twinkle lit up his bright blue eyes. “Ok.” he said. He surveyed their choices and then his gaze stopped as it fell on a small bowl with what looked like dumplings in a bright red sauce. He grinned and said “Here. Let’s see how… intense… you like things to get.” He picked up a deep-welled spoon and scooped up one of the dumplings in one spoon, then the other in a second spoon. He handed one spoon to her and said “Another favorite of mine… steamed dumplings in szechuan chili sauce.” He held his spoon out towards her for a toast, grinning.
