Daamu had fully recovered from the sudden and violent delivery of her baby. She had been in sickbay for quite awhile. Daamu had taken a lot of time to recover. After extensive discussion with the Denobulan Medical Board, they had determined that Daamu had a rare condition called Ambustio Uteri (Uterus Burn). Instead of the Denobulan chorionic gonadotropin hormone (dCG) triggering the Uterine Glands to produce signals that directed the body to increase and redirect blood flow and increase blood production, the glands reacted to the dCG like a allergen and the receptors in the glands ‘burned’. That damage caused all the problems Daamu was experiencing with her pregnancy. The damage was repaired, but she was strongly cautioned to prevent further pregnancies. Much like a human mother that was Rh incompatible with her fetus, Daamu would experience this ‘allergic reaction’ with subsequent pregnancies.Today, however, it was time. The fetus was now a full grown baby and thriving in it’s artificial womb. A work of pure genius, and Alexis was more than just a little proud of Solomon for creating it and the fetal life support system. The fetal vitals had stayed strong and consistent throughout the rest of the gestation period. It was really a very straightforward procedure to deliver the baby, and Daamu and Cirjar were eager to meet their new child. Alexis paged both Dr Walker and Cmdr Kane to attend, if they so desired.
Kane, AMO
Kane walked in wearing a t-shirt with the picture of a much older human woman with the words ‘Punk Isn’t Dead But The Queen Sure Is’ seemingly sprayed on it in red spray paint. He was carrying a sandwich and his hair was unkept even by his standards. He looked at Alexis and said “What’s goin’ on, sexy?” and took a bite.
Kane, R&D
Alexis was prepping a neonatal bio-grib and grinned (and did she flush?) as she looked up at him. She read his shirt and her brow went up. “Daamu’s baby is ready to be delivered. Thought you might want your own data. We’ve got plenty for gestation, but it wouldn’t hurt to have data post delivery to add to the research.”
Kane, AMO
Brad walked in as well as Alexis gave her explanation, and raised his own eyebrow at the researcher’s appearance.
“Well, someone’s coming in after hours,” he quipped.
Cmdr. Dr. Brad Walker
Chief of Staff
Kane looked at Walker nonplussed and lifted his chin in greeting. “‘Sup.” he said, and then took another bite of his sandwich.
