Cori stood as well and despite not being in uniform, snapped off a salute. “Thank you, Commander. I promise to give my very best and make the most of this opportunity.”

She chuckled slightly. “So I guess I now ask the question ‘What now?’.” She was staying on board the Ogawa and this would be her new home. “Oh… quarters, maybe? Not that I’m officially released from Sickbay yet and there is the slight complication of my anxiety about being alone, but it would be good to know where I’m going to live once I do get out of Sickbay.”

Sinclair winked at her and said “Already assigned. You are on Deck 8A, just aft of the Biology lab. You have a private room, but the area has consistent foot traffic so you shouldn’t ever feel too far removed from other crew members at all. Plus, I figured you would be busy getting back into the swing of being a Science Officer again. I figured the proximity would help maximize your work time. That ok with you?”

She nodded. “You always were a smart and thoughtful man,” Cori said, taking a couple step before him. She gazed up at his also bright blue eyes and smiled. So many things she could say and so many things she wasn’t sure how to.

Closing the last bit of distance, she slipped her arms around him, resting her head against his chest. “Thank you for not giving up on me. For hoping when I wasn’t in a position to do so myself. You’ll never know just how much it means to me.”

He put his hands gently on her shoulders and said “No thanks needed. I’m just glad that I got to see you again.” He squeezed her shoulders and then added “I… I missed you, Cori.” and he slipped his arms around d her and pulled her into a full embrace.
