“It is a simple matter of restrengthening the tendons and surrounding tissue. They are healed but weak from the forced dislocation. It will get stronger,” Alexis assured her. When the knitter was finished she took one more scan of wrist to ensure it was healed to her satisfaction. “I’m going to remove the nerve block now, Captain. It will feel very much like pins and needles and first, but it will pass.” She picked up the long rod with the glowing tip and carefully removed the block to allow the feeling to return.

Sensation began to creep back down her arm into her fingertips and she cringed a little at the vibrating feeling that went with it, but it passed as Alexis said it would.

When she was told she could sit up again, Dira carefully pushed herself upright with her good hand and gently flexed the newly healed wrist. “Feels pretty good, all things considered. You said something about a brace? When should I be wearing it? Obviously not when I’m sleeping.” Though Dira might have to deal with that particular issue before she continued to make things worse.

Alexis was summoned when Myqian was ready to sit up. “100% when you are sleeping. Your body relaxes while you sleep and you roll and turn with no conscious thought of whether you should move that way or not. The brace will stop you from causing damage. You should only take it off to bathe, and when the Physical Therapist tells you too. They will be in in a moment and will fit you with a brace and schedule you for an evaluation.”

Well, full ‘cast’ it was then. Even if the brace was removable it would be a part of her limb for now. Dira looked down at her wrist and rubbed it absentmindedly, he mind slipping elsewhere for a moment. She pulled herself back just as her heart rate spiked and then went back to normal. With a small but grateful smile Myqian nodded. “Of course. Thank you, Dr. Kane. I appreciate your help.” She was at least glad she could clear the air about Frigga, though there was a tiny bit of lingering guilt that she did understand was all wrapped up in other events.

Alexis nodded, “Of course, Captain. That is what we are here for.” She paused on her way out. “GALEN has Frigga’s schedule available so that anyone can request time with her.” Then she left. A few minutes later the physical therapist arrived and fitted Myqian with a brace and scheduled her evaluation.
