Dira nodded again. She knew what incident Alexis was speaking of, but knew it was probably unwise to go down that path, even if the woman before her was probably once of the few people who understand the absolutely terror she had felt while Franks had held her captive. “I’m glad you have each other, and I’m glad Frigga feels at home here on the Ogawa.”

Alexis just watched her curiously and then nodded, “Thank you.”

She stood. “I’ll just step out for a minute to check in with my first officer and I will meet you out there?” she said, gesturing to the general medical space.

Captain Myqian, CO

Alexis got up and walked out to give her privacy. She had the scans sent to the surgical suite and she went to scrub. Jt’nal was waiting with a gown for the captain to change in to, and then took her into the room and had her lie on the biobed.

Kane, AMO

It had only taken an actual minute but Dira felt better knowing that Royal had everything undercontrol and would run interference for her for the next little while. In the gown, Dira lay on the biobed and immediately had to still an unease that caused her heart rate to spike. She wanted to complain to the biobed about it being such a tattletale as an Academy roommate had once said of a classmate of theirs. She closed her eyes for a moment and just focused on her breathing.

Alexis watched her heart rate spike. “You will not need to be seated for this, Captain. I will use a nerve block, but would you like something to help you relax?”

Kane, AMO

“It’s not the sitting right now,” she said softly before opening her eyes. “And yes, I think something would be good, since, thankfully, I don’t need to be sedated.” She could be stubborn and refuse anything, but that wouldn’t help her or her medical team. Besides, she tried to be a good patient.

Captain Myqian, CO

Alexis looked over at Jt’nal and nodded. “2mg Ativan.” The nurse loaded the hypo and set it to her neck and pressed the button.

It didn’t take long for the medication to start working and the tension started to flow out of her body, and her heart rate dropped back to a normal level.

Alexis set a small extender beside the biobed and set Myqian’s arm on it before setting a small surgical frame over the arm. “I’m going to set the nerve block.” She tapped at the frame for a moment and then picked up a small handheld device that glowed along the end. After a moment the arm went unfeeling half way from the elbow. “How are you feeling, Captain?”

It was likely that had she refused the medication, she would have panicked when she couldn’t feel her arm. It was the loss of control over her own body, that much she knew. But with the Ativan, Dira just gave a slightly lopsided smile. “Gooood, actually.”
