The part of Dira that had gone to medical school knew that pain was the body’s way of telling us something. In this case, the lingering pain was not normal, especially given their advanced medicine. She also knew that sometimes other things in a person’s life complicated healing, like emotional distress. An overwhelmed nervous system had to prioritize what to handle first, and an ache in one place was never going to be as high up as the flight or fight response.

The captain could have gone to Primary Sickbay, but she came down here for a specific reason. She looked around for Doctor Kane as she flexed the fingers of her left hand.

Captain Myqian, CO

Alexis was on the far side of the bay with another crew member that was stretched out on a biobed. Jt’nal, the lead nurse spotted the captain and walked over. “Hello, Captain. How can we assist you?”

Kane, AMO

Dira pointed to her wrist. “I’m, umm, having some lingering issues with an injury. And I was hoping to speak with Doctor Kane as well, when she’s available, of course.” Yes, the whole crew knew at least the surface details of what went down with Franks in the jefferies tubes, and they definitely knew all about the booby trapped shuttles, but the details of her injuries were limited to those that had treated her, Walker, Sinclair and those she specifically told. But Alexis had been in Sickbay when she was there and had looked over her chart, so she was aware too.

Captain Myqian, CO

Jt’nal nodded, “Of course Captain. Would you prefer to have a seat on a biobed or wait in the Dr Kane’s office?” After getting her settled, Jt’nal walked over to Alexis to inform her that the captain was waiting to speak to her. He also mentioned that the captain stated she was having trouble with an injury. Alexis finished up what she was doing and headed toward the Captain. “Captain, Jt’nal said you are having some difficulty with an injury?”
