“I’ve been in recently,” Solal replied with a shrug, “You do that, she may turn you into Grayson herself.” He looked up at Achilleas, “What concerns? Besides the sleeping.”

“She can try.” Achilleas returned with a stern look. “Mariah and I have a fine doctor/patient relationship and she knows what she needs to know.” His expression softened to one of concern. “I am concerned about your nutrition and water intake. When was the last time you ate?”

CSO Petrakos

“It was…” Huh. Solal was having trouble remembering. “Lunch? Or… maybe breakfast.” No, because he had soup, right? Or was that yesterday? Surely he’d eaten something today, right? What had he done that morning…? He was up early. He couldn’t sleep. Trying to think back was making his head hurt. “You cleaned. Did any of the dishes look like they were from today?” It would have been impossible to tell.

With a shake of the head and a long soul wear sigh, Achilleas went over to the replicator and ordered a rice and vegetable soup. It would be easier to digest and was easy on the flavor for not inducing nausea. He returned with the warm bowl and handed it and a spoon over to Solal. “Try to eat some of this. Please.”

Solal set the bowl on a bed tray and set it up in front of himself. Then he dipped the spoon into the soup and ate a spoonful of rice with one of the veggies. Then another one. He wasn’t having too hard of a time eating right now, it had just… slipped his mind. He’d never felt hungry so he’d never looked for food.

Despite it probably being awkward for Solal, Achilleas sat on the bed and watched him eat. The quarters were clean and everything put away, so it’s not like he had anything to do. He wasn’t exactly sure why but just watching Solal eat some soup brought him happiness. It was a simple task and easy for him to do since no actual cooking was involved. It was just walk over there, put in a command, grab food and walk back, but it still made him glad that he could do it.

Solal paused eating about half way through the bowl and looked at Achilleas. “Is my eating a bowl of rice that interesting?” He asked.

“Yes.” Achilleas said simply. He didn’t really feel like clarifying and he didn’t feel like looking away either.
