Solal gave him a confused look and shook his shoulder gently. “Achilleas?” Then a little harder. “Achilleas.” He started to reach for the comm to call for medical help. What was wrong with Achilleas tonight? He seemed stressed and jumpy and well… Fainty. Had he stressed himself into a medical problem?~ Solal
Achilleas stirred before Solal had a chance to reach the comm panel. He blearily looked around in confusion as the surroundings looked unfamiliar to him. He did see Solal looking at him all confused though and the moment came rushing back. He buried his face into the bedding and let out a frustrated/embarrassed/angry shout. Then he got up off the ground and sat on the edge of the bed while he looked away from Solal.

“Are you okay?” Solal asked, going into a muddy, foggy doctor mode. “Any dizziness? Confusion? Headache? Chest pain?” He rattled off symptoms pertaining to fainting as he remembered them. He moved over a little to give Achilleas space to sit. “Don’t stand yet. You might faint again. You should have stayed on the floor.”
~ Solal
Achilleas sighed and rattled off the answers to the diagnostic questions. “No, no, no, and no.” He sighed again as he put his face in his hands. His next statement was likely a little muffled. “Let’s forget that just happened. And for the love of everything decent please don’t allude to yourself dying again. I don’t think I could take that kind of shock a third time.”
CSO Petrakos
“Achilleas, you fainted. My being ill is a poor-” he stopped as his muddled mind caught onto the discrepancy. “Third time?” He asked, looking at Achilleas. “What was the first time?”
~ Solal
“Shoot, did I say third time?” Achilleas stalled while he thought about his verbal slip and the best way to avoid that topic. He still was looking away from Solal so the expression on his face couldn’t be seen. Well and his hands were covering it too. “My point is I care for you quite a bit and it distresses me to think of your demise. You remember how I got very emotional during that holodeck fishing trip.”
CSO Petrakos
Solal nodded, looking unconvinced. “My poor choice of allusions aside, I am fine, Achilleas. You may be the most emotional person I know.” He took a few moments to breathe and then went on, having not let go of the verbal slip. If he weren’t so out of it, he would’ve put it together himself. Hadn’t slept well, couldn’t go back to sleep. Three shocks involving Solal’s untimely end. But he wasn’t quite catching it. “What was the first thing?”
~ Solal
After realizing he couldn’t put Solal off the proverbial scent, Achilleas begrudgingly told the story. “I didn’t sleep well because I had a night terror. It started out great where you were cured of your illness and we were going for a run on the holodeck in the French countryside. You were in good health and good spirits and we were having a pleasant conversation of V’alura fitting in with my department. Then… your health rapidly declined. You fell to the ground… you were struggling to breathe… and you looked at me with a pleading look for help. But you were gone within minutes and nothing I did could keep you alive. I was just so powerless.”
CSO Petrakos
Solal gave Achilleas a look, but whatever comment he was going to make, he apparently decided not to. “We are on a medical ship. One of the best.” He held out the wrist on which he wore the continuous monitor. “I have this.” And then he gestured vaguely toward the ship as a whole, “And we have the ship’s mainframe system. I will be fine.”
~ Solal
“I know my dream was based off of an irrational fear!” Achilleas snapped back as he turned around and looked at Solal with an intense expression. “I know that it wasn’t real and several things that critically failed would be statistically unlikely! But the fact of the matter is you’re very sick and all of our advanced medical technology hasn’t found a cure for you or V’alura! I can’t control what my subconscious chooses to show me in a dream and it freaked me out. It felt so real.”
