Achilleas made his way to Solal’s quarters after that dreadful nightmare. He had showered and put on some off-duty clothes, keeping it casual and decent smelling. He arrived in front of the door to his destination and hit the chime.

CSO Petrakos

Solal was asleep, at last, but despite his exhaustion, the chime was enough to wake him up. He pressed the button to open the door. The room was dark, as usual lately. Solal was in bed, looking tired, frail, and pale, his breaths somewhat shallow. He rolled over so he could see the door. “Achilleas?”

~ Solal

Achilleas walked through the door and let it close behind him. “Yeah, hey.” He said in the direction of Solal’s voice as his eyes adjusted to the dark. “I hope I’m not disturbing your sleep. I can come back if I am.”

Solal shook his head slightly, propping himself up on an elbow. “I won’t be able.. to get back to sleep.. anyway,” he pointed vaguely in the direction of the desk, “I need a nebuliser. Those are my… my breathing treatments.” He peeked at the nearest thing that offered him the time, flinching at the light it put out. “What brings you.. here so late?”

~ Solal

Achilleas nodded, though whether Solal would see in the dark was another question, and moved towards the desk to find the nebulizer. While he searched he answered kind of over his shoulder. “I uh, didn’t have the best night’s sleep myself. I wouldn’t have been able to get back to sleep and I wanted to check on you but I should’ve been more cognizant of the time.”

CSO Petrakos

Solal reached up and turned the lights up a little so Achilleas could see better. The lights stayed dim, but light enough to give a faint glow to the room. “It’s okay. You should… try to sleep more. You need it. For duty tomorrow.”

~ Solal

After getting a bit more light Achilleas found the nebulizer and walked over to the bed with it. He gave a wry chuckle and a shake of his head as he handed it over. “I can tell you right now that I won’t be getting any more sleep tonight. Tomorrow…” He looked at the clock. “Later this morning is going to have to be my future self’s problem.”

CSO Petrakos

“Did something.. happen?” Solal asked as he took and readied the nebuliser. Then he exhaled, trying to empty his lungs, but he coughed, triggering a short fit. He spent a moment catching his breath, then tried again, breathing as deep of breaths as he could into the nebuliser. When he was done a few minutes later, his breathing seemed easier.

~ Solal

Achilleas didn’t say anything as Solal had the coughing fit. He didn’t even say anything after his breathing calmed down. Instead he just stood there with his eyes widened, complexion almost as pale as Solal’s, and a panicked expression on his face.

CSO Petrakos

Solal noticed the silence of Achileas’ not answering and looked up at him. His friend looked like he’d seen a ghost. “Achilleas? Are you okay?” He coughed softly once and then continued, “You look like you’re the one dying.”

~ Solal

Achilleas face flushed red as he felt a spike of anger. He pointed at Solal and started to say. “That’s not funny! You’re not going to die! You’re not…” His outburst quickly lost energy and his arm dropped back to his side. His face went from red back to pale and he dropped to his knees beside the bed. He looked quizzically at Solal before then slumping forward and passed out.

CSO Petrakos

Solal gave him a confused look and shook his shoulder gently. “Achilleas?” Then a little harder. “Achilleas.” He started to reach for the comm to call for medical help. What was wrong with Achilleas tonight? He seemed stressed and jumpy and well… Fainty. Had he stressed himself into a medical problem?

~ Solal

Achilleas stirred before Solal had a chance to reach the comm panel. He blearily looked around in confusion as the surroundings looked unfamiliar to him. He did see Solal looking at him all confused though and the moment came rushing back. He buried his face into the bedding and let out a frustrated/embarrassed/angry shout. Then he got up off the ground and sat on the edge of the bed while he looked away from Solal.
