“I am. I feel much better.” Solal commented. Giving his friend a look, “I did not much appreciate being a sack of potatoes.” Then his look softened, “however you were quite helpful to me.”

~ Solal

Achilleas placed a hand on his chest in mock shock. “I was truly helpful?” He kept the façade for a couple seconds before he laughed and clapped Solal playfully on the shoulder. “I’m just glad I was in a position to help. We’ve hashed all of that to death so I won’t go into it again, but I’m so glad those days of worry are behind us. Now we can both enjoy good health, good friendships, and your sister… half-sister, is temporarily in my department. I think things are looking up.”

CSO Petrakos

“You were indeed,” Solal replied. “I think she might stay,” he added, about his half-sister. “She likes it here.” He was starting to breath harder so he said, “Let’s slow down a little.”

Achilleas slowed down to a fast walk. “I think that’d be good. I like her. Not like like but, you know, I appreciate her intellect and personality. For being half-Vulcan like you, she seems to embrace the emotional Human half of herself. It can be refreshing at times, let’s just say.”

CSO Petrakos

Solal gave Achilleas a withering look. “She does not possess the emotional… issues I do. V’alura is free to do as she wishes.” Now that Achilleas had slowed down, Solal was more easily able to keep up. “She and I are.... very different.”

With a refreshing smile in response to the withering look, Achilleas laughed. “I’m not saying that you or her is better than the other or that you need to be similar. I’m just saying that the contrast is fascinating.” He mimicked a deadpan Vulcan look with raised eyebrow.

CSO Petrakos

“I suppose it is,” replied Solal sufferingly with a shrug, or as much as a shrug as one could give while jogging. “She and I are… very different. But she is an excellent officer.”

“I haven’t really seen her skills as an officer, but her attitude befits one.” Achilleas said ponderingly. “I’ll have to see what sort of project she’d like to work on. I’ll just not be roundabout with whole thing like ‘What do you bring to the table?’ or ‘Get that stick out of your rear end!’”

CSO Petrakos

“She and I worked on a medical study together. It’s how we met,” Solal commented. It was something he’d mentioned before. He looked at Achilleas, “However you do it, I hope you and she get along well.”

~ Solal

“I think her and I will get along just fine. I think our first impressions of each other was pretty good. I got to tell her that I was your best friend and such a good friend at that.” Achilleas chuckled. “She was duly impressed and agreed with me that your stubbornness is only matched by your Vulcan-esque compassion for patients.”

CSO Petrakos

The comment seemed to make Solal proud of his Vulcan-ness. It actually looked like he smiled a little bit. Huffing a little harder, he stopped jogging and set a hand on Achilleas’ shoulder. “Achilleas… You.... Ah,” he huffed.

Suddenly he seemed really out of breath, his chest heaving with effort. “You really… Are… Ugh.” That hand he’d set on Achilleas shoulder? He was now leaning heavily on it. *Achilleas, I…” He huffed harder. Where he previously looked healthy again, now he looked pale and sickly.

Solal took measured, careful breaths, but it didn’t seem to be helping. He took another big breath and mustered it to get out one more word: “Help.” Then he collapsed on the path, landing heavily on his side, chest still heaving with effort to breathe. He coughed, a hard, long, hacking cough that didn’t end until he was gasping for breath.
