The doors to the brig opened and a three person team escorted the heavily tattooed and wild-haired former CSO inside. They took his commbadge, searched him, and then walked him to a cell. The entire time, his eyes stayed fixed on the woman in the cell across from him, and a wicked smile played across his face. One of the security officers went to the Brig Supervisor and said “Per the XO’s orders, Lieutenant Commander Kane is in custody for that incident with her.” and he jerked his head at Allison Bonner. “We were gonna confine him to quarters, but he ordered us to bring him here, so…” The Supervisor looked at Kane quizzically and said “Commander, you do know that you can be in your quarters, right?” Kane kept staring at Allison and just nodded.

Kane

Alisson was sitting on the cot fuming. How dare they arrest her. They put restraints on her! She rubbed her wrists back and forth. It was humiliating! And Anthony just standing there, not doing anything to help her! Well he better just wait till they got home. She would make his life as miserable as hers had been all these years. She had demanded to be let out. Demanded to speak to the captain again, anyone! They were going to let her out. That was until the Brig Supervisor told her if she didn’t calm down he was going to fill her cell with some kind of gas and make her go to sleep. She sat down then and reassured herself that Alexis would come. She may not be able to love Alisson like she should be, but Alexis would make a pitiful attempt to reconcile. Alisson had always made sure that Alexis did that. She just had to be patient.

She heard the door open and looked up, that had to be Alexis… It. Was. Not. It was Kane. They arrested him! Her glee was short lived as he smiled at her and all she could think of was him telling her he was going to make her life a living nightmare. Or something equally upsetting. She refused to look at him. She would not meet his gaze, or give him the satisfaction.

That lasted all of 15 seconds. Her eyes kept flicking to the cell on the other side of the room, and she paced and figited and muttered like a rabbit cornered by a wolf.

Alisson

Kane didn’t move once the field was up. He stood like a statue… an grinning, malevolent, wicked looking statue. The only movement was his eyes… tracking her like a predator tracks it’s prey. Even the security officer was a little unnerved by it; to the point he said “Ok. Commander… knock it off.” Kane didn’t move. The Brig supervisor cleared his throat and said “I said enough.” Kane chuckled and said across the room “You should thank him. I could stare at you all day. After what you did to Frigga? Oh… the things I can imagine happening to you, you callous harpy.” He movedto the bed at the back of the cell, sat down, and lowered his head. His hair fell across his face as it was want to do… and then he stared at her through the strands, the Reaper-like grin slowly coming back into play as his eyes tracked her every movement.

Kane

Alisson smiled at the Lt behind the desk. “Thank you.” The Lt turned to look at the screen on his desk. He wanted a nice quiet shift, he wasn’t doing it for her. He wasn’t supposed to have an opinion but if the Cmdr stopped this woman from hurting Frigga, well he didn’t want the Cmdr getting himself in more trouble. Then again he was sure Cmdr Kane absolutely would not appreciate the sentiment, so he kept it to himself.

It was quiet for awhile until suddenly Alisson stood up and approached the field. “He’s doing it again! Make him stop!” The officer barely looked up. “Ma’am you need to be quiet.” “But he’s STARING at me,” and she banged her fist on the field. “OW”

“Ma’am sit down.” Alisson sat and looked at her hand. “I need a doctor.” The field shimmered a bit, “No ma’am you do not. The power setting was only enough to give you a bit of a shock. NOW however it is not. Don’t do that again.”

Alisson sat quietly for awhile, but eventually Kane’s silent stare and horrific grin got to her and she turned around and faced the back wall of the cell. But she knew he was still staring at her.
