Seeming to weigh her words carefully, Dira gazed at Alisson intently for a moment. “Then why would you be trying to contact your daughter when, if the order had already been in place she would have had to legal keep her distance. I understand it wasn’t officially in place yet, but it confuses me that you would need to talk to her in the first place. Surely it would have been simpler to let it be and conduct all communications through lawyers, for your own protection if nothing else?”

“And-” the XO added, “- had the VPO been in effect and you violated it, it would make the order void for the purposes of enforcement. Honestly, I have seen people a good number of things that go against their own best interests; but filing for an Order of Protection and then violating it before it can be issued? Thats a first.”

Sinclair, XO

Alisson did not like his tone at all. What would he know about it? Nothing. Anthony on the other hand really wanted the PaDD back so he could record this. Kane was going to lose it watching Alisson try to navigate this.

Alisson looked at Myqian like she was a child that needed an aspect of life explained to her. “She’s my daughter. She just got married.” She scoffed softly, “A lawyer can’t take my place and it would be incredibly impersonal to send a message through a lawyer.” She smiled at Myqian and sighed as if she pitied the woman. “You obviously aren’t a mother. There are certain things, you understand, that only a mother can impart to her daughter when she gets married. Anthony isn’t qualified to…handle this responsibility.” She looked down and side glanced at Anthony, remembering this time to look worried. “Yes well I asked for the VPO for my safety, but sometimes a mother has to put herself at risk.”

Alisson

Dira completely ignored the comment about her childless status. It was immaterial to how she approached this conversation. “If you were concerned about Frigga’s presence, why didn’t you leave or call for help?” A very simple and straightforward question.

Captain Myqian, CO

Alisson shrugged, “She’s never been aggressive towards me, I didn’t consider her one. She’s allowed to run around willy-nilly about the ship. Which is very irresponsible by the way. Someone needs to talk to Alexis about that animal. She’s so disconnected she isn’t capable of seeing the problem she is causing with an untrained and unsupervised animal on board. I guess it is a small blessing she attacked me and not a child or a patient. Really, on Earth, we used to put dogs down for less. It’s a dog not a person and shouldn’tbe treated as such.”

Anthony clasped his hands behind his back, but his knuckles ached from the force of the first he was making. Could Alisson even hear herself?

Sinclair’s jaw clenched. Yes, he was new to the ship and did not have the bond that, he hoped, would be established after time working with the crew… but he was a Star Fleet officer, and the dog was a member of the crew. “Madame, I think you might not quite grasp the tenuous position that this incident has placed everyone involved in. You see, per Star Fleet Regulation 39, subsection 12, paragraph D… the ‘just a dog’ is technically a member of the crew. The animal is also not untrained nor unsupervised, but that is not pertinent to the situation at hand. What is pertinent is the assault that occurred in the passageway. That is why we are here. Do you understand, Madame?”

Alisson rolled her eyes. Anthony wanted to hit something, or someone. He wouldn’t, he was an officer, but that didn’t mean the idea didn’t have a certain appeal. And there was no word from Alexis or Kane. Anthony knew it was too soon, but that didn’t make the wait easier.

“Of course I understand. Such things carry heavy consequences. Crew members, even those who are not Star Fleet, but civilian crew are held to the same standards. Assault is a serious offense.” She looked from the XO to the CO. “What are you going to do about it?” The hate and triumph as she looked at Anthony was palatable.

It took every ounce of self discipline and then some for Anthony to not yell at her that those Civilian crew are also afforded the same protections.

Dira looked at Alisson and her gaze shifted. The sternness returned as she crossed her arms. “What I am going to do is exactly what is obvious in this situation. While we continue the investigation, Alisson Bonner, you will be confined to your quarters pending formal arrest charges. The exact charges laid against you will be laid out in due course, but assault on a member of my crew is taken very seriously indeed, as is harassment. What you failed to understand is that your behaviour on my ship towards my crew is not welcome or acceptable here, and there will be serious consequences. Should you attempt to circumvent your confinement, you will be immediately placed in the brig. Do you understand?”

Myqian gave a subtle gesture to Sinclair, whom she knew would have security return. For the moment she didn’t take her dark eyes off of Alisson.

Sinclair simply stepped back a step so the door opened and he said simply “Lieutenant.” The Security officer appeared in the doorway and the XO said “On the orders of Captain Myqian, I order you to take Mrs. Bonner into custody. She will be confined to her quarters until the Captain decides otherwise. She may contact medical and her attorney, all other comms are restricted. If she makes even an attempt to leave her quarters without authorization, take her to the brig. If she protests, take her to the brig. If she is anything other than cooperative, take her to the brig. And send a team to Sickbay. Once Lieutenant Commander Kane is done with what he is doing, have him escorted here without delay.”

The Lieutenant looked outside and said “Volk. Bakjer. On me.” and in a few seconds the other two Security officers were next to him. He looked at Allsion and said “Ma’am. If you would come with us. Now.”
