She shook her head. “Not at this moment.”

Turning her attention to Alisson, Myqian was quiet for a moment as if considering something. When she spoke, her tone was still fairly even, but she seemed slightly troubled. “Legally you boarded as Mrs. Bonner and that is still your legal name, so for the sake of consistency, that’s how I will address you for the time being. Now, Madame, are there any facts you wish to add?”

Alisson barely hid a smirk as the captain corrected that little slight about her name. Though in truth insisting on Turner might help her cause. What to say, what to say? “Well first of all Anthony wouldn’t know what that dog did or did not do. He was sitting over here on the couch, he couldn’t here. Also I asked to speak with Alexis and they wouldn’t let me. Honestly, I have to be concerned over that. Everything I said was true.” She looked at Sinclair, practiced concern almost hiding disgust, “She is my daughter. I can’t believe she doesn’t want me. You can take me to her can’t you?” Oh so sweet and trusting in his ability to make it right.

Anthony didn’t move or offer to speak, but the look in his eye gave light to the lies spouting out of Alisson’s mouth.

Alisson

Sinclair looked at her and said quite flatly “No.” He paused for a moment and then looked at Dira. “Captain, her daughter or not, Lieutenant Commander Bonner made it clear she had no desire to see or speak with-” and he glanced at Allison before looking back, “- the lady here.” He was thoughtful for a moment, his eyes falling on Allison is what looked like either pity or concern. He then looked back at Myqian and said “Correct me if I am wrong, but under Regulation 256.15, the actions taken here do warrant Bonner and Kane being taken into custody. At least until it is decided if charges will be pressed.” Sinclair deliberately used the ‘Bonner’ name, as it was indicative of the majority of the people involved. But he was absolutely certain that Myqian knew who he was referring to. He was also almost certain that the person he was referring to was too self-absorbed to think it was directed at them.

Alisson’s mouth gave a pout as if he had disappointed her. Anthony knew exactly what Sinclair was talking about and he would laugh if it didn’t involve Kane. Oh he was sure Kane had considered it before he ever touched Alisson. But d@mn.

Dira nodded slowly, as if considering a dilemma before her. “That is the regulation, yes.” She turned a regretful gaze on Alisson. “I am afraid we have procedures we have to follow. Being around Starfleet all these years, I’m sure you’re used to how it is. But before anything else happens, I’m a bit confused about something and I was hoping you could clarify it for me. Did you request a Victim Protection Order?”

Alisson nodded in agreement. Of course she understood. She had been a good and dutiful Star Fleet wife. She understood how the Fleet had their own ways, but this time, oh this time she was going to make it work for her. She glanced at Anthony and back, “Yes, I did.” As a woman surely the Captain understood.

Alisson

Seeming to weigh her words carefully, Dira gazed at Alisson intently for a moment. “Then why would you be trying to contact your daughter when, if the order had already been in place she would have had to legal keep her distance. I understand it wasn’t officially in place yet, but it confuses me that you would need to talk to her in the first place. Surely it would have been simpler to let it be and conduct all communications through lawyers, for your own protection if nothing else?”

“And-” the XO added, “- had the VPO been in effect and you violated it, it would make the order void for the purposes of enforcement. Honestly, I have seen people a good number of things that go against their own best interests; but filing for an Order of Protection and then violating it before it can be issued? Thats a first.”

Sinclair, XO

Alisson did not like his tone at all. What would he know about it? Nothing. Anthony on the other hand really wanted the PaDD back so he could record this. Kane was going to lose it watching Alisson try to navigate this.

Alisson looked at Myqian like she was a child that needed an aspect of life explained to her. “She’s my daughter. She just got married.” She scoffed softly, “A lawyer can’t take my place and it would be incredibly impersonal to send a message through a lawyer.” She smiled at Myqian and sighed as if she pitied the woman. “You obviously aren’t a mother. There are certain things, you understand, that only a mother can impart to her daughter when she gets married. Anthony isn’t qualified to…handle this responsibility.” She looked down and side glanced at Anthony, remembering this time to look worried. “Yes well I asked for the VPO for my safety, but sometimes a mother has to put herself at risk.”

Dira completely ignored the comment about her childless status. It was immaterial to how she approached this conversation. “If you were concerned about Frigga’s presence, why didn’t you leave or call for help?” A very simple and straightforward question.

Alisson shrugged, “She’s never been aggressive towards me, I didn’t consider her one. She’s allowed to run around willy-nilly about the ship. Which is very irresponsible by the way. Someone needs to talk to Alexis about that animal. She’s so disconnected she isn’t capable of seeing the problem she is causing with an untrained and unsupervised animal on board. I guess it is a small blessing she attacked me and not a child or a patient. Really, on Earth, we used to put dogs down for less. It’s a dog not a person and shouldn’tbe treated as such.”

Anthony clasped his hands behind his back, but his knuckles ached from the force of the first he was making. Could Alisson even hear herself?

Sinclair’s jaw clenched. Yes, he was new to the ship and did not have the bond that, he hoped, would be established after time working with the crew… but he was a Star Fleet officer, and the dog was a member of the crew. “Madame, I think you might not quite grasp the tenuous position that this incident has placed everyone involved in. You see, per Star Fleet Regulation 39, subsection 12, paragraph D… the ‘just a dog’ is technically a member of the crew. The animal is also not untrained nor unsupervised, but that is not pertinent to the situation at hand. What is pertinent is the assault that occurred in the passageway. That* is why we are here. Do you understand, Madame?”
