Dira gazed at him, her jet eyes soft and understanding. “I know it’s frustrating to watch, but is it possible that this is his way to cope? You and I both know what it’s like to be in a situation that we can’t fix. There are things we can do, but we’re still limited by certain constraints. Solal has to find his way through in a way that makes sense for him. It may not be what we as friends want for him though. And that’s not to say if he’s putting himself at more risk than yes, we might need to intervene, but… It’s his life, Achilleas, isn’t it?”

Achilleas sighed again but this time nodded in acceptance. “Yeah, it is his life. I do disagree with how he seems to be coping but I suppose if he were in any danger then Bonner would have him in Sickbay more often. I wish he’d see a counselor regarding the stress of it all but in his stubborn Vulcans-don’t-have-emotions-belief he insists that there is no problem.” He shook his head then changed subjects again. “Either way this shouldn’t affect my work and though I’m exhausted by having my mental state probed, I’ve been working with Doctor Grayson since my boarding psych eval.”

She nodded. “I’m glad you’re working through it. Especially when we’re supporting someone in this way, it’s important that we take care of ourselves as well. Working exhausted isn’t okay though. It certainly won’t do you or your department any good. What other self care things can you put in place?”
