“And I thought you were willing to be patient. Tsk, tsk,” Myqian said, shaking her head.

She rose to her feet and inhaled deeply. Wow, today was just going to be a whole lot of weirdness, wasn’t it? Gesturing to the door, Dira led him out and into the corridor and the short distance to the Command Center. She took a brief moment to steady herself before she stepped into the space as the Commanding officer for the first time.

In the Command Center, everything was working quietly as it did, though there had been less of the chit chat and banter the last few days. Dira understood. As she moved down towards the two centre seats, Lieutenant Duhn was holding the fort for her, as it were. The Pelian rose from the seat and grinned at Dira. “Congratulations, ma’am.”

“Thank you, Sirrel,” Myqian said with a matching grin and expelled a breath. “Don’t go far, I will need to step away for a little while.”
“Yes, Captain,” Duhn said.”
“But first… Commander Sinclair, this is Lieutenant Duhn, from Operations. She’s been helping me out while Walker keeps Medical going. Lieutenant, our new XO, Commander Sinclair.”
Sirrel gave a smile. “Welcome to the Ogawa, Commander. If there’s anything you need, don’t hesitate to ask.”

Sinclair shook the Lieutenant’s hand and said “A pleasure, and thank you. I will probably take you up on that offer.” and he grinned.

Dira gestured for Sinclair to take his seat. “Shall we, just for a minute?” she said.

“Aye… may as well get that first step done.” he said as he looked at the XO’s seat… his seat… and he took a deep breath.

She sat down in the centre seat she had sat in regularly. But this was different and while she was happy to not only still be on the Ogawa and proud to take on this role, she missed her friend. Her and Willow had truly bonded and it was from her that she had found a love for watching episodes of Starbase Hospital. It was a transition, and she knew as a psychiatrist that moments like this were mixed and she was allowed to have mixed feelings about it all. But as she gazed out the viewscreen, Dira also knew she was being offered an important opportunity and she knew herself well enough to know she would not squander it. “Well?” she said, turning towards Royal and leaning on the armrest. “Not bad, huh?” she said, her ebony eyes lit up. She would announce him in a minute, but she wanted him to have this moment too.

Captain Myqian, CO

He looked at her and smiled like a little kid seeing a starship for the first time. “Naw… I think I might be able ta get used’t this, indeed.” he said with a wink.

Sinclair, XO

“It’s pretty comfy,” Myqian said with a grin.

She touched the comm button on her access panel and took a steadying breath. =/\=All hands, this is the Captain speaking. While we are indeed going through transitions, I have no doubt you will continue to execute your duties will your usual skill and dedication. As the Admiral mentioned, our new XO is aboard and we welcome Commander Royal Sinclair to the Ogawa family. Expect visits and meetings as we sort things out. For a moment Dira just sat in the chair and took everything in.

“Well, I have an office to go pack. I figure I’d start there. And you have all the rest of your check-ins too. How about dinner in the Lounge later?” she asked.
