There was a ding from off the side as the door to the turbolift slid back into the recess allowing access to the chamber. A white haired woman stepped off of the turbolift and looked around. There was a soft sound that came from her as she took in the details of the main bridge. Walking up to the captains chair she stood a few feet away and looked towards the chair, a smile on her face. The 5‘4” woman smiled, and gently brushed the hair that was framing her face back behind her ears, which showed off the series of a multitude of brownish dots that framed both sides of her face, and seemed to disappear up into the bangs that covered her forehead. “Hello. I was told that I needed to come here and meet the Captain, as well as maybe be able to snag the XO?” She asked as she looked around for a moment, as she lost her focus on the captain’s chair for a moment, and took in the other members of the bridge crew around her.
Maria, CEA Lieutenant in gold was sitting in the centre chair and gave Maria a smile. “The Captain is in the ready room. I’m sure she’s expecting you,” they said, gesturing to the starboard door.
~Helpful NLt.
Maria blinked as her attention was brought back to the Lieutenant in the chair. She nooded and gave a soft “Ooooo” in a tone that seemed to shift higher in pitch the longer it persisted even though it only did for a few mere seconds. She raised her left hand and waved she cocked her head a little to the right a smile graced her face which she uttered a simple “Thanks” before she skipped along and headed towards the door to the ready room. As she stood before the door she raised her hands up and combed them through her bone white hair. Looking at it, her hair seemed to be silky smooth as she pattted it down. Taking a few deep calming breaths her left hand snakesd out from her hair pressing onto the call button. She quickly dropped her hands and awaited her audience with the captain.
Maria, CE“Come in,” a lyrical voice called out.
Stepping into the captain’s space, the spacious room offered an immediate view of the expanse of windows opposite the door. To the right of the entrance was the captain’s desk, a couple chairs for guests, and a replicator tucked into the corner, while a sitting area took up the space in front of the windows. A door on the opposite side of the room led to a fresher.
Currently, there were crates stacked and Dira was setting objects on a built-in shelf behind her desk. In her light brown hands was a round and squat pot in a deep blue colour with sweeps of white and green paint and she was eyeing the shelf intently
Myqian herself was of fairly average height and build for a humanoid, with the notable (if softened) forehead ridges and bulges of her father’s people. As she turned her attention to her guest it was clear she had the dark eyes of Betazoids. Her mass of tight curls was pinned neatly down in twists along the top of head, allowed to pouf out at the back and the lights in the office glinted off a thin band of metal she wore towards the front of her head. Dira set the pot on the shelf and smiled. “You would think moving from one office to another wouldn’t be such a time consuming task, but apparently I underestimated it,” she said with a tiny grin.
She stepped around the desk, pressed her hands to her chest and bowed her head. “You must be our new Chief Engineer, Maria, yes?”
Captain Myqian, CO
Maria stood at the door, and once it opened those outside could see her posture and demeanor change. She straightened her back and held her head up just a little bit higher. As she stepped forward into the office her floaty, almost lackadical way of walking was gone, as everything had become rigid and stiff, marching in much like a military officer would have been in the centuries past. Once out of the door way she took a parade rest stance, her hands folded together and pressed against the lumbar section of her spine, her feet spread to shoulder width apart. She kept her eyes on the captain while there, not staring, but her gaze was intense.
When the captain spoke, her posture tightened a bit more. Though it still looked somewhat of a natural position to the woman. “Yes ma’am I am Maria. I thought that this was another engineering detail. I must have misread the details of the assignment.” She paused for a moment her face turning thoughtful. That makes sense why the orders said to report to the captain and not someone else. That being said, I will do my best ma’am.” She said in a staccato manner. She didn’t seem to be disrespectful, actually quite the opposite that she respected the position the captain held, knowing how much trial and adversity one would normally get to be trusted with the captaincy of a ship.
Maria, CE“At ease, Lieutenant,” Myqian said with a warm smile. “In fact, why don’t we sit and have a chat?” she said, gesturing to the navy blue sofa that had a gentle curve to it. On either side of it, nestled between the windows and where it curved out were a side table with a potted plant. One had trails of forked leaves and the other had tall dark green stems lined with alternating heart shaped leaves that had a blue hue.
“Can I get you something to drink? I’m minded to grab a cup of coffee.”
Captain Myqian, CO
Maria’s posture relaxed a bit her arms dropped to her sides. She adopted a slightly more normal pose of sorts as she drew in the with of her feet to be closer. At the offer of a drink the woman looked thoughtful, before giving a small smile herself. “Cocoa, lukewarm if you wouldnt mind. I unfortunatly have no tollerance for hot drinks at all… I’ve burned and scorched my mouth too many times.... last time it took a month or two for my tounge to feel normal. I’m sorry… back to the task..” She blabed a bit the underline nervousness she felt showing through. It became quickly apparant that she had not had much dealings with senior staff before. She wanted to make a good impression but seemed very unsure of how to. She could almost remind one of a terrified bunny backed into a corner. She slowly and cautiously moved to the indicated couch. She gently sat to the far end. It was like she was afraid she might break the thing, or disturb the nice furnature. “Yes ma’am.” She responded finaly as the request for a chat prossed through her somewhat addled mind. Even though she sat, and tried to make herself small as possible, to take up the least amount of space.
