OOC: Calé and I worked out how best to have her character make an exit. Here it is.

As Starfleet was wont to do, the orders came in quietly and were meant for swift execution, so there was no time to do anything big. But Dira wasn’t going to let her go without some sort of acknowledgement to the crew, so she made a ship-wide announcement from the bridge while Willow and Cai were packing. It was simple: =/\=All hands, this is Commander Myqian. Please be advised that Captain Taylor has been reassigned to an important project with Starfleet Medical, effective immediately. While this is a great loss to our ship, her expertise are needed elsewhere and they would not ask this of her if it was not necessary. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that serving under her has been a great honour and privilege. We wish her all the best. Please all show her your appreciation,=/\= Dira said before leading the entire bridge in a round of clapping.

“Promise me you’ll take good care of the ship.“

The parting words were followed by Dira’s vow and a fierce hug. When Myqian had shown up at the promotions ceremony on Starbase 157 following the crippling of the previous incarnation of the Ogawa, she hadn’t known what to expect for her first assignment as XO. She also hadn’t expected to become such fast friends with Willow Taylor.

Letting Willow go, she made her friend promise to keep in touch as she was able and watched her disappear, moving on to something hopefully amazing.

Such was life. The comings and going were normal, but that didn’t mean they weren’t hard at times. But she had her duty and a crew that needed someone’s direction. For the time being, she’d make sure everything kept ticking over as best she could. After all, she’d made a promise.
