The comms incessant chirping roused Kane from bed and he went to the terminal. Activating it, he said =/\= What?! =/\= to the face on the screen, a face of Asian human looks but with jet-black eyes.

=/\= Dr. Kane. Governor Kenzo B’Tren-Hyrushi. I am sorry for the apparent lateness of my call. I was hoping to see how you were coming along with the project? =/\= the man asked in a calm and even tone.

Kane blinked a few times to fully awaken himself. =/\= Right. Yeah, its fine. I actually already sent you your prototype. Like the one I made, but on steroids. But it should help with what the patient needs. =/\= He looked at Hyrushi and said =/\= You know that if you put that on a normal telepath or empath, you’re gonna permanently hurt them… right? The face on the other end of the call paused for a moment. He seemed… reflective. And when he spoke, it was one of the most sincere statements Kane had ever heard. =/\= I assure you that I intend to give it to someone who can really use it, Doctor Kane. And I harbor no illusions as to the ramifications of utilizing your invention for nefarious purposes. Do you know when the device will arrive? I want to make sure I am able to get it before the screening process flags it. =/\=
