“V’alura, yeah. She transferred from the Ark Angel, on medical leave.” He left out the part where V’alura chose to go on medical leave. Solal was forced into it. “She doesn’t have the kidney failure or the brain symptoms but her lungs are in much worse shape. Doctor Bonner has her on regular breathing treatments.” Solal took the same breathing treatments, but only when he was having trouble or when he had an active lung infection. It was much less frequently than Solal. Then Solal told Achilleas more about V’alura as a person. “She is a scientist… So I guess you’ll be working with her i-when she’s off medical leave. She’s…” He’d run himself out of breath again talking so much. He had to pause to catch it. “....a programmer. Wrote me a new holodeck program for my violin performances.” This time he picked his pause more strategically, in between sentences, “And she is about the furthest opposite of me that you can imagine.”

“I suppose I will be working with her when she returns from her medical leave.” Achilleas responded enthusiastically while putting an emphasis on the word when. “How is she your polar opposite exactly? Different hobbies and interests?”

Was that a grimace Solal was giving? V’alura annoyed him in very sisterly ways, not that he’d admit that. “Let’s just say she.... embraces her human side.” Ugh. It drove Solal crazy. What half Vulcan in their right mind would do that? Then again, she did not appear to have the… emotional problems Solal had when he was younger. Other than that difference, they were infuriatingly similar in hobbies. She was a scientist, he was a doctor. Those weren’t that different. Especially if one knew how Solal was as a doctor. His bedside manner was.... Very Vulcan. They both played a musical instrument, they both did research in fact that was how they’d met. “She was an actress. Oh, and she’s 50.” Solal commented finally. Sat side by side one could even see the family resemblance across them, despite the more obvious differences in their looks. And they both had that ridiculous stubborn streak.
~ Solal
“Oh, an older sibling.” Achilleas chuckled. “I think I may have mentioned around when we first met that I’m the youngest of thirteen children. I sympathize my friend. It will take some getting used to.” He paused and gave further thought to what Solal divulged, while still keeping the hug going. “An actress huh? Theatre or something different?”
Sci Petrakos
Solal nodded. “I believe you did.” Solal had, he was pretty sure, mentioned he had never wanted siblings. He was growing more used to V’alura though. Achilleas was still hugging him and it was comforting oddly, though he sat there like a lump. Were hugs supposed to be this long or did Achilleas just really like hugging people? “Both, I think. Movies and television toward the end of her career.”
~ Solal
“Oh how exciting. I’m not much of a movie or television watcher but it might fun to talk with her about the different aspects of acting.” Achilleas said while in a good mood and still tightly hugging Solal. It really didn’t look like he was going to let go anytime soon. “I don’t want to go forcing my way into your new family dynamic so I’ll leave the timing on any potential meet up to you.”
