Apparently they investigated after the Ogawa reported receiving some of the Vincennes cargo and that included the faulty phasers. The Vincennes has no reported that they themselves had discovered the faulty cargo and had returned it to base a little while ago. When checking, it seemed they had a couple containers that belonged to the Ogawa as well. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Based on the timeframes of the events, it seems that the Vincennes had dropped off cargo at Starbase 157 prior to when the skeleton crewed Ogawa left fro Regulus. The Vincennes had just returned from an assignments at the time and did a standard restock. While part of her incredibly partitioned mind remained on the task at hand it also sifted through the data they had been given about their assignment. Apparently a severe planetary storm had destroyed the colonies previous hospital facility. Perhaps she should look into those factors to mitigate a repeat of the situation with the new facility that the Ogawa crew would be putting up. : : : : : : : : : : Tapping out a few commands on the console, T’Pris asked for any records of said storm as well as a copy of the weather patterns for the area. : : : : : : : : : : T’Pris Pyschobiologist : : : : : : : : The settlement was located on the western side of the main continent within the equatorial belt and had a tropical rainforest climate. As such it had a steady and predictable temperature range that was on the warm side with regular precipitation every month. The settlement was located well above sea level in a river valley and thus the mean temperature was lower than closer to sea level. Storms were not unusual but they were rarely destructive. : : : : : : : : The only record available was a report by Commander Xerdosa that detailed the extent of the storm. Though well inland (1500 kms), the settlement ended up being in the path of a massive storm that had turned into an extratropical cyclone after being a Category 4 Hurricane (based on the Saffir-Simpson Scale). : : : : : : : : The storm brought wind gusts up to 120km/h and dumped 75mm of rain after a slow moving system had already dumped 35mm the day before. This caused severe flooding and with the high winds, caused large amounts of damage to the settlement. It seemed they’d been ‘on their way’ to the planet for a very long time. In the meantime, Talyn kept herself busy by catching up on the reports she hadn’t gotten to yet. The bridge was a good place to do ‘quiet’ work, as there were rarely any rousing, group conversations going on. Everyone was ‘on duty’ so they were paying attention to their stations and talking quietly among themselves.

In the general silence that was the bridge at work NE Clumsycup reached for a sneaky sip of coffee from the cup by his post at the communications station. He put the cup to his lips, sipped and carefully tried to replace it, one eye still on his station. It slipped and poured hot coffee over his hand. He yelped loudly and left to his feet.

By his side NE Unfortunatebyname, who had been swinging ever so slightly on her seat heard the commotion and, as if some random being of the universe intended for her to exist only to make a scene, fell backwards from the chair, her head and shoulder making a sickening thud crack combination off of the rail behind her. She lay still dazed.

Troublesome NE distractions

The first officer turned to see the commotion and shook her head. “Don’t just stand there, help her up. Now the two of you report to sickbay immediately.” She maintained eye contact with Clumsycup the whole time.

As two other officers helped the fallen NE to her feet Clumsycup looked at the XO then away again his face burning. He quietly left the bridge and walked across the corridor to sickbay.

Meanwhile the NE who took his place looked at the console and turning to Kree stated. “Captain Taylor reports she has arrived in engineering. I also have Doctor Black trying to contact the bridge to speak to someone.”

Troublesome NEs

Kree nodded. She looked at the officer speaking. “After you clean up that console, run a diagnostic to make sure the liquid isn’t going to short out something. Noted about the Captain. Put Dr Blake through, please.”

Tressex watched the commotion from the science console. As the personnel left the bridge, Tressex went back to modeling the weather patterns and trying to come up with an accurate forecast over the time the Ogawa would have personnel on site.

T’Pris worked beside Tressex relaying information from her findings down to the science station when she noted the call come in from the relay repairs for a scientist. Since Tressex technically ranked higher then she decided to run it by him first.”Engineering crew who are working on the relays have contacted the Science labs for a consult, should we contact the CSO and see if one of us should head down there?” She asked.
