The transport brought Solal and his patient, one Commander Myqian, directly to sickbay. With her settled on a biobed, he could finish treating her. He set the biobed to monitor her vital signs and then set to work. The first thing he wanted to treat was the chloroform poisoning. He ordered two medical NEs to undress her and give her a sponge bath, the purpose of which was to remove any trace of the toxic chemical from her skin. He also gave her a dose of hydrocyanic acid, a known antidote to chloroform poisoning. It may not work, but it was the first and best indicated treatment.

The beta blocker Solal had given her back in the corridor definitely helped her heart, thought the chloroform she had inhaled was not easily neutralized. Still the hydrocyanic acid did help and the rest would just have to dissipate over the next few hours. While the staff cut off her uniform and changed her, Dira was all too silent, her gaze unfixed. She didn’t fight them, but nor did she actively help in any way. Numbness had set in. The high alert her body had been under was gone and she was exhausted and traumatized. She didn’t have words, or the energy to interact just now.

He set to work next setting the injured joints. The anti-inflammatory and the pain med he has given earlier would help, but resetting the dislocated joint would still hurt. He wasn’t sure how conscious she was, so just in case she was he warned her: “Commander, I will need to set your shoulder and your wrist. It will hurt a lot, and then it will feel better.” Then he did just that, carefully manipulating the shoulder back into its socket, and then resting the arm in a sling against her chest.

That got Dira’s attention! She cried out in pain, but it was no worse then when she had intentionally dislocated her wrist, a fact he’d be able to tell by the angle and laceration from whatever had bound her her hands.

“Sorry, commander.” He felt the need to apologize. An odd thing for a Vulcan to do. It was only a logical treatment for an injury, after all. The need to apologize was purely human. The observations about her wrist did not go unnoticed and went into his notes and her file. It told him she was bound, that she had fought hard to free herself. It was probably something the chief of security was already aware of, but better safe than sorry.

The wrist was easier, being a smaller joint. He set it back in place, and then splint it with a stiff, fabric splint that would keep the wrist from moving.

All the pain was too much and Dira had had enough, another wave of endorphins hit her taxed nervous system and Dira finally (and probably quite happily) passed out. The fight to survive was over.

Solal did another check of her vitals once she had passed out. She needed the rest. Once he was content she was stable, he set up a schedule for continued treatment as well as a note to monitor the chloroform treatment, and then let Haven, Dr Almikaz, and Capt Taylor, know that she was stable, and that visitation was open. They would be free to sit and stay with her.

Arrived arrived after the Commander had been stabilized. Seeing that she was resting and unconscious, Surra took a seat in a nearby chair. She’d wait and see if she regained consciousness so she could deliver the message Zoi had given her and determine how she was recovering from her ordeal mentally.

It was awhile before Dira stirred. It was not sounds per say that moved Dira into consciousness. More it was that the neurosuppressant had worn off entirely by that point and she was now able to sense people again. It was more an awareness that there were people nearby, rather than anything distinct, so her brain wasn’t able to distinguish what was before and what was now. Her mind drifted in a swirl of disjointed thoughts and images.

The monitors beeped with the sudden increase in heart rate and Dira murmured, her hands twitching.
