Kane was clearing the last bit of debris away from the second crew member and he yelled “Ok, this one is ready to go!” and he began the slow, meticulous movement towards the two farthest crew. At seeing one beginning to stir, he said “Don’t move! Stay down. We’re coming to you. Just relax.” and he looked back to see if the stretcher team had cleared the second patient from the scene. He also saw Savel. “Savel! With me! I need help clearing this debris!”

Hearing his name, Savel joined Kane as fast as he could and started to assist him in clearing the wounded man, trying to not aggravate his condition.

He groaned and his eye fluttered open for a moment.

The second team made their way to Kane’s location as he moved on. Following the same procedure as the first team, they masked the downed crew member, stabilized her back and then transferred her to the stretcher. Hearing Kane call out to one of the other crew, they lifted the stretcher and moved out of the bay. The third team waited for Savel to enter the bay and join Kane and then moved into place, waiting at the last cleared location. Bonner did a fast scan of the next patient coming out. “This one’s better, Solal. Get her lungs cleared and stabilize her right ankle.”

Solal finished stabilizing the patient with the hurt ankle, getting her on oxygen and stabilizing the ankle. Then he sent her off to sickbay. When the call came overhead he rushed off to answer it, with a quick nod to Bonner. They were already close to the arboretum, he could quickly respond.

Alexis waved Solal on. They were the closest response team, and he would get there fastest.

The third patient was carried out and Alexis waited for the fourth team to make their way in and wait at the last cleared point before turning her attention to Meklan and his report. “Mask seems to be doing the job, concussion here, and bruising on the anterior of the left hip.”

“Make sure she is stable and then get her moved.” Alexis turned her attention back to the shuttle bay.

“What happened?” the final downed man said as the debris was moved off of him. He coughed.

“You cut yourself shaving. You should really be more careful.” Kane said as he and Savel extricated him. “Those electric shavers are no joke.” He ran the tricorder over the man and, seeing nothing life-threatening, he set a hand on the man’s shoulder and said “You’re gonna be fine. We’re gonna get you outta here and you’ll be good as new in few hours, ok? Just relax and let us do the heavy lifting, got it?” He looked back at the doorway and yelled “Stretcher team! Same Drill! Walk where we walk, don’t step anywhere else! C’mon, lets move!”

Alexis could hear him talking to the crewman and laughed lightly. Which earned her several perplexed looks from the people around her. It seemed preposterous but his humor seemed ro calm the man, so who was she to argue.

The fourth team made their way precisely and quickly from the last position to them. They set the stretcher down and same as before slipped a mask over his face, scanned for anything damaged that needed to be stabilized and then lifted him onto the stretcher. “Cmdr Kane, We’re ready to move him out.” Then in one smooth practiced motion they lifted the stretcher and headed back out of the shuttlebay, following the same path they took in.

Kane looked around and then at Savel. “Ok. Now comes the hard part. Me and you, we’re gonna scan every bit of this debris. But first, I’m gonna look to make sure we don’t have any secondary devices. So I need yo to clear out while I do that. But don’t waste anytime waiting for me. I want you making a 3D model of the entire place. Every burn mark, scorched bit of metal… everything. Start at the door and wrok your way in slowly, got it? If you see anything that looks weird, you back out and call me. When I’m done with the search, I’ll do chemical composition analysis and then we can get Engineering down here to start with clean up and repairs. But right now, don’t let anyone else in here. Not even the Captain. Not till we’ve swept the area and have a clear record of everything, got it?”
