It had been a day since his arrival. He’d had a restful nights sleep, a hearty breakfast, and now he made his way to the Counseling Suite on board. Some officers looked at a visit to the counselor with dread, but Tyler always found it easy talking to a shrink, especially when the subject was one of his favorites - himself.

Arriving at the counseling office area, he checked in and took a seat in the small waiting area, wondering what this new doctor might be like.

Mariah smiled as she left her office and headed to reception. She loved providing therapy, but her absolute favorite part of her job was meeting new people. New people provided new perspective and new histories to explore, new puzzle pieces as it were. Others may have found boarding evals boring, but she loved the unpredictability of a fresh face.

“Lieutenant Wells?” she greeted, finding the face to match the picture she had. “I’m Dr. Mariah Grayson. I’ll be meeting with you today. Care to follow me?”
