They had fulfilled their task. That’s what she put in her report to starfleet. The arms and legs the mission had grown was essentially just par for the course and there was nothing that could be done. Yet she had to admit, as she sat at her desk and sipped her peach iced tea, knowing he was fine now, seeing Golfink in his boxer shorts had been an absolutely amazing outcome. She filed the last of the crew transfer orders and sent a message to Dira to organise a time for them to look at crew performance, promotions were on the horizon and there was time for some R and R and maybe even some shore-leave once they got back to the station.
Rubbing her hands over her eyes tiredly She sat and pondered the crew manifest. Pausing when she reached Dr Walker’s file. The corners of her mouth turned upwards slightly and she recalled the conversation they had had in primary when Golfink had been being screened.
Picking up a stylus she began to do something she hadn’t done since her academy days, she sketched a short cartoon. Chuckling to herself as she worked.
Some time later, an hour maybe she sat back and watched the image she had created as the computer animated it for her. There was little cartoon Brad, in his pyjamas, working away at his desk. He reached over to pick up a slightly oversized cup and took a drink from it. A puff of smoke and stars and there in his place stood a llama with Cartoon brad’s hair and his pyjamas blinking in a surprised sort of way. The cup still held in his little llama foot. The animation began to play again from the start.
Still chuckling Willow bit her lip and watched it a couple more times then checked the time, it wasn’t too late…she swithered a moment longer then sent it directly to Walker.

COIn his office, Brad was doing much as his cartoon self had been when the incoming message chime sounded. Sighing, he saved his progress on the current item he was working on and pulled it up, confused as to the message reading as from WIllow, but with no subject, and only a videofile attachment.
He hit play regardless, and couldn’t help himself from laughing as he grabbed a spare PaDD and asked GALEN to bring up a video editing program and a 300-year-old cartoon film, since his artistic skills were roughly comparable to a chicken who’s feet had been dipped in paint and set on canvas immediately prior to decapitation.
20 minutes later, Willow received a reply to her message with an attachment of Brad’s own.
A cartoon anonymous henchman vanishing in a cloud of pink smoke, only to be replaced by a cow, then turning to his villainess boss and speaking: “Hey, I’ve been turned into a cow. Can I go home?”

Chief of StaffBack in her office Willow waited impatiently to see what he would do. When the chime on her computer terminal sounded to say she had a message she nearly spat the mouthful of tea she had taken seconds before all over the screen. The clip played and she laughed. An old film but she knew he had gotten the joke. She opened another message.
what’s the differential for turning into a cow, and secondary to that why does he get to go home if the others don’t. she wrote and still chucking with a mixture of amusement and anticipation for his reply hit send.

COPatient reports acute cellular metamorphosis subsequent to exposure to pink aerosol of unknown origin, claims normal humanoid appearance but now resembles bipedal bovine. DNA analysis underway to determine possible timeframe for reversion to original appearance. was the eventual response. I can’t really offer a justification for letting him go home, unless he needed to explain something to a partner? Maybe all the other guards were single?

When the message came in Willow looked up from her next sketch and chuckled. She animated the cartoon she had been working on and sent it in response. Cartoon willow sat at her desk drinking tea, the magic puff of smoke occurred and in her place an evil looking shadow either glowing eyes and teeth appeared for a split second before panning out to reveal a small fluffy red kitten wearing captains pips. Cartoon cat willow blinked and made a meow face.
She sat back chuckling to herself and waited.
