Having completed her other check ins, and a brief stop at her quarters to fight her hair back into submission, Elanor now headed for the Primary Medical Suites. Having completely given up on the up-do, her long black hair was now in a loose french braid over one shoulder with several smaller braids mixed into it. Several strands were still threatening to come loose and fall around her face… Her grey eyes remained bright and her cheerful demeanor was still very much in evidence. As she stepped into the reception area she once again found herself in awe of her surroundings. She turned a full circle so as to not miss anything as she took in the sights and sounds. Anyone expecting Vulcan sensibilities along with her pointed ears would be sorely disgruntled at the sight… It seemed quite as though she had completely forgotten what she had come there for.

Alexis didn’t usually work in primary sickbay, her domain was secondary, but she was waiting on some results from the medical lab so she had stepped in to see what she could help with. Also to get to know the staff here. Even though Alexis was not overly social she did like to be able to address people by name when she worked with them.

Seeing the new entry after she passed through the decontamination area Alexis recognized the awe of a new arrival. Young or old they all had it. Straightening her lab coat Alexis walked over. “I’m Dr. Bonner, you are here for your medical check,” seeing the nurses medical uniform and not recognizing the face it was a good bet, “or to check in the Dr. Walker?’

“Both actually,” Elanor replied, smiling cheerfully. “I’m Lt. Shaw, I’ve been assigned as your new Head Nurse.”
Uncharacteristically, for most of Vulcan heritage that is, Elanor offered her hand for a shake. “It’s lovely to meet you.”

“Dr Walker and I have been anticipating your arrival. We have been without a head nurse for quite some time.” Alexis pulled out her tricorder and the small scanner, and paused, “May I?”

Alexis always liked to ask the other medical professionals for their opinion of their medical file. It gave her an idea of how they thought and approached patients, but they were also professionals and should be able to pinpoint easily the biggest concerns. “What should I be on the lookout for in your file and your exam?”

Elanor smiled, “Nothing terribly remarkable, I’m afraid, I tend to be ridiculously healthy. My mother used to joke that she wished I would actually get sick once in awhile, maybe then she’d actually be able to keep up with me.” She paused for a moment. “I broke my left ankle dancing when I was a child, 38 years ago now, it occasionally gets a bit achy if I do too much.”

Alexis nodded as she began her scan. “Well you are on the Ogawa now. We could look at the ankle. It probably didn’t heal correctly if it still gives you problems. If it’s the bone we can give you a calcium infusion, or if it’s the actual joint a combined infusion of Collagen Types 1 & 2, Chondroitin Sulfate, MSM, and Glucosamine Sulfate should help.” Alexis glanced at the scan and compared them to Shaw’s standard norm levels recorded in her chart. “Have you been exposed to any diseases lately, been in areas of epidemic?”

“No epidemic areas and no exposures in the last two weeks at least. Prior to that I was still working in the Women’s and children’s clinic at McMaster. There is always the possibility I was exposed to something there, but none of my clients in my last month had anything more serious than typical childhood illnesses and I am, of course, fully vaccinated.”

“Good. We recently had an exposure to Romulans TB, it has still be recent enough that you will need to inoculated.” Bonner stepped away and then returned with a hypo of the vaccine. “Do you prefer arm or neck?”

OOC: what did her scans say?

OOC: Some bone degeneration in the ankle, probably because she never stayed still long enough for it to heal properly. Otherwise in good health. Not sure how Vulcan vs Human her physiology would be at 1/4 Vulcan - your guess is as good as mine?

IC: “The arm is fine.” She replied. After a moment she tilted her head slightly and asked, “You’ve been here right from launch, yes? What’s your impression of the Ogawa? I can’t imagine it’s anything like my experience so far.”
