OOC: Well its as good a place as any I suppose.

IC: Brad paused his idle walk around the Bridge at the comm, moving to the nearest free console to look at the information being uploaded.

Tuberculosis? In this day and age? Even accounting for the… unrest… in Romulan space over the past few years, how one person had managed to acquire that infection, much less possibly spread it across an entire population, was absolutely unheard of. Still, it was a potentially very contagious, very serious viral infection, and that demanded a certain response.

=/\=Walker to Bonner. I’ll get our facilities started on producing more treatment courses. Barring any acute emergency cases, tracing the spread of this infection should be the top priority of the ground teams.=/\=

From her chair Willow glanced around. “Let me guess…either the camera crew got eaten by something or something viral and horrible is on the loose?” She asked.

“The second,” Brad replied. “Romulan tuberculosis.”

Her eyebrows shot upwards and she stood, walking over towards Walker.

=^=Yes, Sir. Dr. Solal is already testing virus against our typical treatments and starting a contact trace. I am concerned about any of our crew that has Vulcan, Romulan, or Reman heritage. They will be at higher risk.=^=

=/\=Right. I’ll start checking immunization records and put in an order for anyone at risk to get a booster before heading to the surface. Do you need a dose sent down for Dr. Solal?=/\= Brad replied.

=/\=Yes, but he’s going to have to be given a full round treatment. He’s already been at risk for exposure being down here. We’re running blood tests on him now to determine if he’s been infected and already started treatment as a precaution.=/\= Alexis informed him.

=/\=Alright let me know the results,=/\= Brad replied, while also logging the order in Sickbay for a full round of R-TB boosters for crew that could be infected, priority to those planning on doing a rotation planetside.

“The camera crew will need checked too.” Willow said as she checked the manifest notes on the computer beside Walker. A slightly bemused looking NE leaning back out if her way to allow access.

“Oh, can’t we just let them get infected?” Brad whined, semi-playfully. “If they’re stuck in isolation, they can stop bothering us and trying to put makeup on us.”

“Pretty sure ethical guidelines say no. But maybe we could put them in isolation to be on the safe side.”

=/\=They have been planet side captain, so I would say yes. I have not seen them myself, except briefly before the hospital landed. I believe they were with Cmdr Myqian. Like anyone else returning to the ship, I would put them in quarantine until we’re sure.=/\=

Her mouth formed a thin line and she looked at Brad. =^= Understood, keep us updated.= ^=

She crossed her arms and looked at Brad. “You might get your wish at this rate.”

Opening another comm willow said =^= Taylor to Myqian, do you have eyes on our..guests number one?=^=

Myqian sighed. =/\=Not currently. I saw him a few minutes ago, but just had an update from Bonner and deal with something there personally first.=/\= There was no good way to say over the comm ‘Hey, my brain is going nuts with the sheer amount of suffering down here and I needed my abilities dampened a bit to remain functional.’ Sometimes less was more. =/\=I’ll go find him. Do you want him to stay put, or be elsewhere?=/\=

There was a moment of silence, as if Willow were taking in the comment before she said. =^= Given the infectious nature of the situation Bonner has updated us on I think it might be prudent to have the camera crew beamed back to the ship and placed in quarantine. =^=

Myqian shook her head. =/\=I’m not sure if this is my luckiest day or about to make it worse. Wish me luck.=/\=

After signing off, the XO left the hospital to go find Golfink and hope he hadn’t gotten himself into trouble for the sake of ‘dramatic license’.
