=/\=Yes, but he’s going to have to be given a full round treatment. He’s already been at risk for exposure being down here. We’re running blood tests on him now to determine if he’s been infected and already started treatment as a precaution.=/\= Alexis informed him.

Myqian waited till the conversation had finished before she chimed in again and the time actually allowed her to steady herself, to put the pain and suffering of these refugees in a contained place again. “Alexis, by any chance do you have a neurosuppressant available or that you can replicate for me? I hate doing it, but things are… intense down here and too much of the suffering is bleeding through my mental shields. If I don’t do something, I’ll have to head back up sooner rather than later.”

Alexis nodded. “We didn’t stock the hospital with it, but it is in the database so the replicators can make. If you will come this way.” Alexis tried to contain her reaction. She knew her aversion to telepaths was really the result of one person, one unethical person and that most telepaths were not. She had to look at the science, the facts, not the personal experiences. She stepped into the supply area and keyed up the replicator for the telepathic inhibitor. “I just need to take a quick scan to see what your current levels are for the dosage.”

Myqian nodded, grateful that this would be as simple as it had been in the past. She didn’t want it to be a big deal, but she also knew that she would be a t distinct disadvantage compared to her normal state and she’d have to compensate.

Once she had the reading she took the vial and slipped it into a hypospray and keyed in the dosage. “It can cause some light momentary dizziness, would you like to sit first?”

Bonner stepped into the lab and looked at Solal. “Let’s get your blood sample and a full scan. I have your first dosage here.” Then she’d have to get back to her patient. Solal could run the lab tests easily enough. She picked up a small hand held device that looked like a hypospray but went slightly deeper to take a blood sample rather than administer medications. She took the vial out of it, labeled it and set it on a container on the counter. Then she held up the hypo. “Arm or neck?”

Solal turned to look when Bonner entered and then nodded. The idea he might have been exposed did not seem to bother him. If anything, he seemed ever so slightly annoyed to have to take the time to take the treatment and do the test. Part of that was his training to control his emotions, part of it was just logical thinking of the situation. He was neither very young nor very old, and he had no underlying conditions. Even if he had contracted it, he assumed there was a good likelihood he’d be fine. “Arm should suffice.” He replied, offering up his left for the hypo. “The test shouldn’t take long. I can give you the results as soon as I get them.”

Alexis administered the hypo. “Thank you. Anyone else at risk here on the surface will have to go through the same procedure. Dr. Walker is synthesizing the inoculations and sending them down. If you will make sure to receive them when they arrive we’ll keep those located here in the lab.” She made the appropriate notes and signed off in Solal’s file. “I’ll leave you to work.” Alexis didn’t engage in small talk. There was work to do and there was more to be done.

She walked back into the room with her patient. “I’m sorry about that. I hope Frigga kept you entertained. Now tell me what happened to your knee.”

OOC I didn’t think this would be the thread to blow up while I was out of pocket! I re-read many of the posts the last couple of weeks and have some questions before I respond IC:

1. Are you having these conversations in front of the patient?

No. Solal came in to get a blood sample and then they stepped into the hall.

1. If not where is everyone in these conversations? Is anyone with the patient?

They were in the corridor/hall, then the lab, and now Alexis has returned to the room with the patient. Does Frigga count? Alexis left her there with him. I assume there is an NE nurse, but I never said.
