Before his eyes the inside of the Hippocrates small transporter room disappeared, only to be replaced with the much larger one of the Ogawa. Dr Jarvis tensed slightly as the process of his molecules reassembling themselves finished. He was not a fan of such methods of transportation. At least not for organic beings. Trusting a computer to break you apart and then put you back together exactly as you were left much to be desired. Contrary to popular belief, computers sometimes made mistakes. Stepping off the transporter pad at the behest of the operator, Jasper filled in with Counsellor Pope and the pair of security officers. With any luck, he would soon be free of this irritating entourage. Free to move about under his own direction. At the door, another pair of phaser touting louts waited“Welcome aboard the Ogawa, Counsellor. If you would follow us, Captain Taylor will see you in the conference room,” one, a human female of about 5’ 8” with burnt orange hair said.
“Thank you, Ensign,” Pope replied, following the woman through the door and to the nearest turbolift.
Jarvis rolled his eyes but said nothing. While trading one institution for another would not rid him of such rigidness entirely, he would hopefully be able to get some time away from it. If only when alone in his own quarters.
The group entered the turbolift and the Ensign spoke to the computer, “deck four.”
They rose steadily for a few moments before coming to a stop. Jasper glanced around as they were led out and through a short corridor into a large room. Inside he took in the long oval table with its many chairs. Out of a window he caught a glimpse of a planet, Carraya IV, he assumed.
“The Captain will be with you shortly, “ the Ensign said. “As you may already be aware, Counsellor, Commander Walker has already beamed aboard
Pope nodded and the woman left. The pair stood and waited for the Captain.

While the newest visitors of the ship were being led to the conference room Willow sat in her office before a computer terminal looking aghast.
“WHAT!” She more or less bellowed at the grey spikey haired man on the screen who did not look too happy at being adressed as such. “You cant be serious!”
The man scowled. “Mind your tone Captain Taylor, mind it well.”
“Im sorry Admiral Davies…but…Mark for the love of…what on…i dont want someone like that on my ship! We are a medical ship not a rehabilitation outreach programme.”
“Will…” the man began and rubbed the bridge of his.nose. “Look its not up to me, i made sure you got the best for the chief of staff positions twice now. Do you know how many ships would have killed for even half your medical department let alone the rest of the crew.”
Willow pursed her lips, her jaw clenching. “Jarvis is a good.doctor if a little off the rails. He should be utalised and given what you are.going into you need all the medical experts you can get.”
“I am not letting that man near a laser scalpel.” She said. The admiral shrugged.
“As is your choice for now but there are other officers and people guilty of genetic manipulation who were not punished as you well know.” He raised his eyebrows at her and her heart skipped a beat, mouth suddenly dry she licked her lips and shook her head.
Admiral Davies looked apologetic suddenly. “Im sorry that was uncalled for. Listen…your father and i were good friends Willow…id never do anything that might…”
“Thank you Admiral. I understand perfectly and will ensure that Jarvis has something to do on board. But i want it on record that i do not agree with this placement and will be filling in my XO and chief of staff as to the nature of this immediately.”
Sensing the conversation at an end Davies tone became slightly cooler. “As you wish Captain. I will send you Jarvis’s information shortly. Counsellor pope will answer any further questions.Your concerns are noted. Davies out.”
Willow watched as almost immediately the information began appearing on her screen. She put her head in her hands and sighed deeply. She sat like this for a moment before the chirp of the comms interupted her.
=^= NE williams to Taylor. Just to let you know our guests are waiting for you in the conference room.=^=
Willow scowled. Her head hurt. She reached for her badge and pressed it with the tips of her fingers. =^= Understood. Have someone bring them something to drink oh and have a medical division uniform replicated. Ill be there presently.=^=
She looked again at the information on the screen and then downloaded it to two seperate PaDDs.
=^= Taylor to Onuru and Walker report to my office immediately =^=

COBrad turned up just a few seconds later, having barely reached the turbolift after reporting in himself.
“Did I forget something?” he asked.
Lt. Cmdr. Dr. Brad Walker
Chief of StaffWillow frowned in annoyance, her contact with the Admiral having conincidently happened just as Brad was leaving. She shook her head and offered one of the PaDDs to him with all of Jarvis’ file. ” No. But i have more information that i want you to have before i go meet Doctor Jarvis. I want you and Commander Onuru to know exactly what i do before i go meet this....person.” somehow crewmember didnt sound right.

CO“Well, you’ve managed to get more than I did, and I spent the last couple days on the same ship with the man,” Brad said with a grimace. “His shrink or whatever that Counsellor is was very tight-lipped about exactly what it was he did to get locked up in the first place.”
He took the PaDD and started browsing through the files there.
Lt. Cmdr. Dr. Brad Walker
Chief of StaffWillow’s lips pressed thinly. “Amoungst other unethical things the main thing he seems to have been charged with was genetic modification. That was what he was caught doing at least.”
Willow Taylor
CO“Probably just the tip of the iceberg,” Brad agreed. “I’m also quite skeptical of the claims that he’s seen the error of his ways.”

Meanwhile In the conference room.
Dr Jarvis’ gaze remained fixed out a window, however, his mind had wandered into the depths of his memory.
Blue blood covered his gloved hands as he raced against the clock to remove a shard of metal that had pierced all the way through the Andorian’s lung. While the surgery had occurred a long, long time ago, he could still recall each and every movement he had made with uncanny detail. A tap on the shoulder back in the outside world caused his hand to slip. Apparently, today at least, the Andorian died on the table.
Jarvis turned to face Counsellor Pope, a sour expression on his face. He hated interruptions, especially when in the midst of a surgical re-enactment. “What is it, Counsellor.”
He received a reproachful look that he could tell had been in response to his own. “You wont win over anyone with that sneer.”
“I was not aware that I needed to ‘win’ over anyone.”
The portly man sighed long-sufferingly. “While Star-Fleet command have ensured you a position on this ship, you would do well not to antagonise your new commanding officer straight out of the gate. A good first impression will help ingratiate you to the Captain and hopefully help her see past the file she will have undoubtable read.” As he spoke, Pope gave Jasper a pointed look. “You need to make her see the exceptional doctor that you are and not the…”
“…not what,” Jarvis cut in, “the doctor who tried to advance our knowledge of medicine and genetics.”
“By carrying out practices that were both unethical and illegal, Dr Jarvis, “ Pope admonished. “You have a phenomenal mind, Jasper, and I strongly believe that the experiences of your youth are the reason that you lost your way. With the proper structure you could contribute something meaningful to the federation. Besides, the captain is a cardiologist, the two of you have that in common already.”
“Of course, Counsellor. I shall bear that in mind when the captain decides to grace us with her presence. However, I think I shall pass on using cardiology as an icebreaker. From what I’ve been told, she’ll likely not have seen a heart in years.” Jasper gave the man a smile that would have made children and some adults run for the nearest escape pod or airlock, whichever came first.
