PaDD in hand, Alexis scanned the list of emergency response teams and those assigned. “I’ll get right on this. If something that major happens we’ll need those kits to be stocked and ready.” Alexis was so eager to get back to work, she didn’t even wait to be dismissed. Once out of his office, “GALEN inform all emergency medical response team members to meet me on Deck 14 in one hour.” The triage deck was also their main storage facility for all things medical. They could pick up extra supplies there and then work their way up through the decks. “Message Sent Dr Bonner,” GALEN confirmed. Then she made her way down to Deck 12 and secondary sickbay to check in. She wouldn’t be in sickbay most of the day so she wanted them to know where she would be. After reviewing a couple of cases, Alexis took the lift down two decks and started pulling out extras for the emergency medical kits stored around the ship.

OOC: Anyone wanna join in?

Bonner, AMO

OOC:I got excited and worded that wrong. But THIS is what I meant. gestures at post

OOC: This is the exact role my character was made for! I’m in! I’ll start a Deck 14 thread and clip in part of this post as a start.

IC: Thoon was seated at the desk in his quarters, several slim PaDDs strewn about its surface. The desktop viewscreen showed a medical text open to a section on the effect of dermal regenerators on phaser burns in several Federation species and best practices for application in an active fire situation. With a few gestures he transferred a block of text to the PaDD to his right. He was studying again. As he seemed to spend most of his free time for the last 8 months. This time it was for his own class. He would begin teaching combat lifesaving to security crew in just a few more days and he wanted to make sure his first class went smoothly. His combadge chimed, breaking his concentration. =^=All emergency response team members report to Lieutenant Bonner on Deck 14 in 1 hour.=^= GALEN’s voice announced. Thoon tapped his badge. =^=Acknowledged. Thanks, Galen.=^= He tapped a command key on his desktop and the display went dark. He stood up and stretched, grateful for a break. “Perfect timing.” He muttered to himself. He’d have just enough time to take his jog, shower, and get to Deck 14.

{1 hour later}

Thoon stepped off of the turbolift on Deck 14 and jogged the short way to the main triage center. As he approached the door he tugged down his tunic and slowed to a walk. He walked through the doorway and approached the small group of officers beginning to gather a short distance in. “Lt. Furood, reporting in.”

There were a few blue uniformed science officers, a few counselor green, and lots of medical teal and white in the room. A couple handfuls of security orange and there were some gold wearing engineers down checking on the mobile hospital. Most of the engineers on the response teams were still helping with the ‘shake down’ of the ship. Or something like that. Bonner had no idea what exactly that entailed, and she had no desire to discover the procedure at the moment. Maybe later that day when she had some down time she’d look it up and learn the procedures and diagnostics the engineers were running. Either way she’d been told they could not be spared for equipment checks. If it bothered her, no one could tell. In truth it didn’t. Every department had their priorities and this wasn’t an emergency situation nor a scheduled training.

Deck 14 was a big empty room for the most part. One part was closed off with large bay doors that allowed the mobile hospital to be deployed. The bulkheads separating that area from main triage were open for the engineering folks that were working. The largest area was open to be set up for massive triage. The large bay was lined in storage closets. Each labelled for medical supplies, cots, bedding, science and engineering kits, and security equipment, and rescue gear. To Alexis irritation, despite the labels on the doors, nothing was in the closet it was supposed to be. Crew were busy taking everything out of the closets and attempting to figure out where it should be stored. “Lt Bonner?!” a voice rose above the din, but not in alarm. A woman of average height but on the thin side, long auburn hair twisted up into a bun and held by no less than 5 PaDD stylusis, looked up and moved toward the woman who had called her. She was dressed in medical teal, and had a mini-PaDD in each hand, and it looked like 4 or 5 micro-PaDDs sticking out of uniform pockets.

She looked at the woman, “jr Lt Thryro Sh’zalrel?” The woman nodded. “I don’t recognize this designation and I’m not sure where it’s supposed to go.” Alexis leaned forward to see the label and her brows raised, “Borcheck!” The large Bolian man came up, a huge grin on his face, “Well hey Bonner, long time no see. We’re almost finished reprogramming those tritanium slips…” Bonner held up a hand to stop the flood of joviality that was about to spew forth. “This crate is the one Lt Kane was looking for a month ago. Run it up and secure it in the storage lockers in R&D then let him know we have it.” Borchek blinked at the crate and then nodded. The missing supplies had made Lt Kane more annoyed than normal. He hefted the crate and took off. He paused in passing Lt. Furood. Borcheck grinned, “Welcome to the chaos!” He laughed and jogged out with the crate.

Thoon smiled back and blurted “Thanks!” at the back of the large Bolian disappearing around a corner. Seeing Borchek hustling made him speed up a bit into a light jog. He shifted his emergency med pack satchel to his back so he didn’t have to hold it to his leg while he trotted along.

A man in a white nurses uniform looked up, “Lt Bonner!” Alexis turned and followed where the man was pointing. She walked over to Furood and then down at the PaDD. Security…security, “Lt Furood? Thank you for coming. The plan was to check all the emergency medical rally points for supplies and function, but nothing is sorted or stored where it should be. The storage closets need emptying. Equipment that belongs in them is stacked outside the door. Once it’s sorted we’ll grab the emergency response equipment and start our checks.”

Thoon nodded in response to his name and listened as Alexis explained the chaotic activity taking place everywhere he looked. “It doesn’t look like they’ve come up with a system yet.” As he spoke two ensigns bent down for the same piece of equipment and collided, forehead to crown. Thoon winced, his eyes retreating in their sockets as he squeezed his eyes shut and cringed in sympathy. He gestured at the two, now seated and each rubbing their own head, and said, “As if to punctuate my point.” They looked none the worse for wear so he continued. “If I might make a suggestion, Doctor, (Shalon assumes she’s a doctor…) We’re in a triage center, why don’t we treat this like a triage situation? Half would empty out everything systematically and sort each piece of like equipment with like, while the other half would begin taking stock and organizing the equipment to be placed in their proper location.” He gestured while he talked, miming sorting something with his hands.
