It was three days later when Alexis finished. Once she had determined the correct conversion formulas the work moved quickly.
She’d worked double shifts and along with the other medical staff Dr Walker sent the work had moved at a steady pace. They had 2000 units/dosages of each. Alexis wasn’t sure of the numbers of ill or wounded needing help but felt that was a good start. Once finished she appeared back in primary Sickbay and knocked on Walker’s office door.

He opened the door, almost surprised to see her. “Hello, Dr. Bonner,” he said. “How can I help you today?”

“You asked to be informed of the quantities and types of supplies we converted.” Bonner handed over a PaDD. “2000 units of each. We have the chemical conversions saved to the database now so it will be simple to convert more if necessary.”

Brad took the PaDD and read through the list quickly, letting out his breath in a low whistle. “You did all this in just under three days?” he asked, impressed.

“Dr. Tija was very helpful and competent. (OOC I know she never responded but incase she wanted to step in later I wanted to give credit) I also put 3 of the medical labs and chemistry lab to work on it. Everyone put in extra hours, but it was important to have these done before we arrived. Once we had the conversions figured out the work wasn’t hard just time consuming. But we were able to adjust the formulas to work on large batches instead of individual vials, and that shortened the work amount.” What Alexis didn’t saw was she worked almost around the clock on it. It really wasn’t surprising. Once her mind had ahold of the process she could fly through the work.

“I’m sure you put in the most,” Brad said, “You look like you haven’t slept in at least two days.” He was starting to despair that he was working with a bunch of workaholics.

Bonner smiled and shrugged. “It needed to get done, and I got a nap. I’m off the rest of today and tomorrow. Unless you think we need more and I’ll get started.” Alexis lived for work. Everyone else that had been working was thrilled to be finished and be off.

Brad shook his head. “This is certainly enough to get us started,” he said. “I want you well rested by the time we reach the colony, just in case the formulae need further adjustment to meet the needs we actually find.”

He wondered if he’d have to come up with some kind of disincentive to keep Bonner out of the labs when she wasn’t supposed to be on shift…

Inwardly Alexis sighed. The conditions for her to be ‘well rested’ were different than most. Alexis couldn’t rest if her mind was running on over drive. Hence all the extra hours she put in. But right now she’d been working a lot so her mind was calm…relatively. “Of course, Dr Walker. I’ve been assigned to the new R&D lab and it won’t be ready for two more days, so I have time.” Alexis could find work to do if she wanted, which she probably would… “If you need me to make more though, I’m happy to come in,” and because she knew Dr Walker wouldn’t put up with her ‘doing it all’, “The PaDD contains the names over everyone who worked with each compound, so you can ask them as well. If the conversions need adjusting though, please let me know.”

Then there was a short three trilled beep from the ever present PaDD she always had with her own reading and research on it. She glanced down at it and then back at Walker. “If there’s nothing else, Frigga has finished her visits in Psychiatry and they need me to pick her up.”
