Kyle felt nervous as he crossed the deck towards Doctor Viasse’s quarters; it occured to him momentarily that he didn’t know what her first name was yet, so needed to rectify that quickly. The young man had tried to make an effort in tidying himself up, but still found that he was straightening his uniform jacket several times during the walk to his date’s quarters. Armed with a small house plant and a bottle of Scottish Whiskey from his supply of non-syntheholic drinks, he took one last look at himself in the reflection of the door and clicked the chime.-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Security Officer-
“All right.” Viasse squeezed her patient’s shoulder, “I’ll see you next week to check up on that hand. If you experience any problems, come right back, and we’ll look into them for you. Does that sound good?”
“Sure,” they nodded.
“Perfect,” Viasse smiled warmly. “Be sure to get some rest, and don’t overexert. All right?”
“Scout’s honour.” They raised their injured hand in a near salute, correcting it before they entered a world of pins and needles.
“Okay,” she chuckled and rolled her wrist to take note of the time. 18:50. She felt her heart speed up at the revelation, her eyes budging slightly. “Well, I have somewhere to be. Do you need anything before I go?”
“Nah,” they waved their free hand, “I’ll head back to my quarters here soon. Go do what you gotta do.”
“Thank you,” she smiled and snagged her PaDD to finish up the remaining paperwork.
By the time Viasse freed herself from the primary sickbay, her watch had ticked past 18:59. She was officially late. Though she moved swiftly, Viasse couldn’t catch Anders before he reached her quarters. Instead, he would detect the futile pitter-patter of regulation boots slapping against the hall floor. And if he were to turn, he’d see a rushed Betazoid woman jogging his way, strands of curly hair flailing behind her.
Viasse caught sight of him and tempered her gait to a walk. “You beat me!” She sounded from the opposite side of the hall, sheepishness unfolding in her smile. When she was within a few metres of him, she added: “I hope the wait was too arduous.”

Kyle grinned like a small child, “Not at all lass, I’m just sorry I came over before you were off shift!” Kyle had an arm behind his back throughout this few seconds of conversation, “I thought you could do with a little something to take your mind off things.” Presenting the bottle with a bit more of a flourish than he’d intended, he added, “I hope it’s your tipple.”

“Not at all,” Viasse waved her hand, “besides.. promptness is an attractive quality.” She winked, her gaze drifting curiously to his hidden hand. Soon, radiance consumed any hint of sheepishness in her demeanour. “Am I that easy to read?” Viasse chuckled, accepting the bottle with equal flourish. Lifting the bottle as if to inspect it, she considered Kyle through an amber lens, and she couldn’t help but smile.
“Thank you. Why don’t we go somewhere we can enjoy this?” Viasse jabbed her head to the door, indicating her roommate. “Without an audience.”

Kyle chuckled while nodding politely to the young Doctor’s roommate. Kyle immediately noticed that they seemed annoyed at the young man, as though he had interrupted something, “Sorry Ensign, I’ll bring her back before dark, I promise.” He shot a wink and a child like grin to Viasse before extending his arm in the old gentlemanly fashion, “Shall we-,” he paused, “D’yknow, I never actually caught your first name?”

Viasse tossed her roommate a sheepish grin, mouthing a dismissive ‘I’ll be fine.’ Turning to Kyle (but not before catching the woman’s ever-petulant eye roll), she nodded and slipped her arm around his. “Ruvre,” she said after a moment’s pause, “Ruvre Viasse.” A beam consumed any hint of demure, leaving nothing but gentle joy in its wake. “Now that we’re properly aquainted,” she shot him a playful look, “we shall.”

‘I have an old haunt from back home I wanted to show you,’ Kyle began, ‘Tell me, is Jazz music of particular interest to you?’ Kyle was keen to impress, but was prepared to adapt his plans to whatever the young Doctor felt like doing.
-Lieutenant Kyle Anders: Security Officer-
“I pity the soul that doesn’t appreciate Jazz,” Ruvre smiled, her body touched by soft laughter. “Tell me about this ‘old haunt’ of yours. How did you find it?” Subtle excitement accented her words as they approached the Holodeck.
