Koraia’s ridged forehead knitted as she lifted her brows. Busted. Ah well, she was going to enjoy her time out regardless. But she hoped the Romulan woman would go along with it and not give her away just yet. “Did you? Huh? Well, the grapevine is a funny thing. You never know what is true and what is pure conjecture,” she said as her drink arrived and she took a generous mouthful.

Placing her now empty glass on the counter, Viyara motioned for the bartender to refill it with the same drink. “Which makes it so much more fun and interesting than pure facts,” Viyara replied with a lopsided smile and a wink. “Don’t you think?” she added while eyeing the two women closely. Of course she knew that most people preferred for others to only know the truth about them, but then there were those like herself, who found that the rumours offered a layer of protection and privacy and thus made it easier to keep people at bay.

“Oh absolutely,” Duvosa said, grinning slyly. “I do love hearing all the rumors and conjecture about myself. There’s a quite popular theory amongst the crew of the Ogawa that I am some kind of Romulan secret agent of the Tal Shiar.” She laughed heartily, taking a sip of her drink.

“Really?” Ghubari said with a laugh. “But I suppose that’s an easy rumour to believe rather than something much more mundane. It can also be interesting to then use those rumours to your own advantage, though it really does depend on what they are.”

Taking a sip from her drink, Viyara mulled Ghubari’s reply over for a moment. For most people that was certainly true, but if you try to keep people at bay t a certain degree, rumours could be good. And as far as she could tell, she had generally been able to use rumours about herself for her own advantage. Then again, some of them she had managed to spread herself. Raising her left eyebrow and grinning lopsidedly she replied, “Indeed. And hearing the rumours about yourself can be rather entertaining as well. At least that’s been my experience.”

Duvosa let out a hearty laugh. “Oh it is most certainly entertaining.” She paused. “So how long will you be here visiting the Station? Any plans for while you are here? I know I am enjoying a break from the normal routine and I plan to have a very good time of it.” She smiled and finished the remainder of her drink, setting the empty glass down on the bar and signaling to the bartender for another.

“I actually don’t know. The Athena hasn’t had much downtime, so I suspect they’ll let us cool our heels for a bit before sending us out again. It’s been awhile since we’ve properly restocked and”-she cast a small grin Nazeen’s way-“restaffed, so getting everyone on board and equipped seems to be the current mission,” Koraia said.

Viyara returned the grin and said, “The break from the usual routine is definitely nice. Though from what little I’ve heard about the Athena’s last mission I’m sad I missed it. It sounds like it was f-very interesting.” She had been about to say fun, but then decided that that might not be the right word. “I’m curious to see what the next one will bring,” she added before taking another sip of her drink.
