=^= All hands this is the Captain. As you are no doubt aware we have unwittingly become the host to a small family of empathic life forms. They are being taken to sickbay until we can return them to their homes. As our mission is of uptmost importance this must take precedence . Medical and science staff will do everything in their power to make the life forms comfortable during their wait. In the mean time we are now back on course to Carraya. All crew members with telepathic or empathic abilities please report to ICU in fifteeen minutes time. Please do not attempt to contact the creatures in the meantime. All department heads report to the bridge immediately. That includes you Lieutenant Moreino.=^=

Arun gave T’Pris a pointed look with a smile. “It would be great if you did. Please stay with the mother and her children during the transport. I think I’ve managed to calm her down, but the transport might change that again. I have to report to the bridge. I know… ” he gave her an apologetic look “I know you are Vulcan, but maybe you could still try to concentrate on positive and welcoming thoughts. This creature is emphatic, so it may help keep her calm.” he said. “I will send my sister to the ICU. She is my twin, you will recognise her easily. She’s in a constant mind link with me.”

“I will have no difficulties doing so. ” T’Pris said.”I can keep in contact with her during the transfer as well.” As she completed her task she allowed her mind to reach out to the creatures and send calming thoughts to them. She was a strong enough telepath to keep in contact with them up to the point of dematerialization and regain it when they appeared in sickbay.

With that he gave a nod and left for the bridge, trusting T’Pris to keep the aliens safe.

Tressex only half-listened to the exchange. His attention was focused singularly upon watching the readouts and dialing in the correct environmental controls. Once he had established the optimum levels to the best of his ability, he looked up and said to no one in particular “There. Environment is stable and bio readings are no longer fluctuating. I think they will be ok for the mean time.”

“The ICU indicates they are ready for their patients,” one of the NE’s remarked.

OOC: Quick question for my understanding - T’Pris is full Vulcan, is that right? How come she is telepathic without touch and mind-melt? Just trying to understand your character’s capabilities. Thanks, Julia

OOC: If you look at her bio you will see an incident that happened to her in 2387 on the Valkyrie which damaged and changed her paracortex. It was done by an alien species, it also damaged her ability to control her emotions. Blame Alex Lorien for that one, he was GM:) Since that time she has spent years trying to deal with the changes of both her mind and emotional control. Even went into psychology to try and understand it better.

In the minutes it took for Zoi to make her way to where the creatures were retained, she had worked hard to clear her mind of her frustrations and negativity. She had worked to calm herself both mind and body, allowing her shoulders to relax from the tense posture that came from doing her job. She did not want to get closer to empathic creatures feeling waves of negative emotions. It would be detrimental to their own calm. By the time she entered the Lab, she was feeling far better than she had been.

“How are they doing?” She asked T’Pris.

“They are returning to normal physiologically due to the influx of a proper amount of hydrogen. The female had been under distress due to this lack of hydrogen. It appears they must come from a planet that is infused with hydrogen so once removed from it she went into distress and an hibernated like state. They are ready for transfer now.”
T’Pris said as she kept up sending an infusion of calm and steadying thoughts to the creature.

OOC: Ok thanks, that makes sense. Maybe we could do a side sim for our characters to get to know each other better, I think there’s quite a bit of potential there… :-) - Jules

Having confirmed that they were stable and that the hydrgoen concentration was adequate, the gastropods were transferred to the ICU. They dematerialized successfully.

OOC: Moving to the ICU thread. Just about there folks! ;)

“Alright, let the transporter room know that the female and offspring are ready for transport,” T’Pris ordered Haven as she stepped back, keeping her empathic link with all of the creatures as she waited for the dematerialization. Once it was completed she made her way out of the labs and headed for the ICU at a brisk walk.
