Her eyes returned to the Chief. “What if… what if that was what I was feeling? The presence of the intruder?” Once again, she turned around slowly, trying to find the elusive feeling once more.

“Do you get anything else?” Rico asked her, “There were reports of other people feeling the same, it may well be our intruder.”

A short time passed, enough for Talyn to have the information. =/\=The intruder appears to be a gastropod which has been taken to the science labs. I don’t believe there is any threat now.=/\=

Moments later and the red alert cut off, but Rico looked at Haven skeptically. “Do you really think a gastropod would give you that feeling?” he asked her, and was about to reach up to comm the bridge when another call came in.

A moment later. =/\=Lt Vanhall, Kree here. Cmdr Reez has just informed me that his wife has sensed a presence on the ship. Apparently the intruder isn’t the gastropod. I believe that was just a coincidence. Send teams to all sensitive areas and begin a deck by deck search for…we don’t know exactly what we’re looking for, but get your people moving. Look for anything out of the ordinary.=/\=

He glanced back at Haven and titled his head, the sign for her to ‘come on’. “Looks like we are back in business” he said to her then tapped his comm again to his security team.

She grinned, as happy to be doing this job as she imagined he was. There was something exciting in going after a mystery.

=/\= Vanhall here. I want three teams searching the ship for an intruder who we have not identified. Haven and myself will take Decks 4, 3, 2 and 1. Team two will be Khauv and Skallig, decks 5, 6 and 7. Team three will be Vihr and Morgan, decks 8, 9 and 10. Full search, weapons on stun and clear each deck with me before moving on. =/\=

“Lets start moving and see if you can sense anything” he told Haven, “Room by room, away we go.”

Deck 4 would turn out to be clear. The gastropod-like creature was found between Deck 4 and 3, and Commander Reez’s quarters were also located on Deck 3.

As they moved upwards, there wasn’t exactly the same feeling, but something else that was different. Rather than it being a sort of desperate and forlorn feeling, Haven would get subtle waves of panic and almost a form of anger.

Over the comm. =^= Taylor to Security. We think there are eggs or a nest located somewhere these need to be found as priority and returned to the mother as carefully as possible. =^=

Security would receive an alert that a bio-contamination field had been erected around Secondary Sickbay on Deck 2. No one could enter or leave until the alert was released with appropriate authorizations.

“Let’s go.”She said and began moving towards Secondary Sickbay.”Zoi was not the most versed in her telepathic abilities. Betazoids often had far more control over their extra sensory perception. All she could do was project a feeling of the desire to help and compassion for the poor creature.

Oddly, she felt like her reaching out was in a way meeting another mind. Then she heard a voice in her head.

* Hello.... Ensign… Haven? I’m sorry we haven’t met yet, but I just felt you reaching out. This is a bad moment though to meet, but you are welcome to join our efforts to communicate with the alien lifeforms on the ship. They are not hostile, just afraid. *

Zoi stiffened. She did not like being contacted with in this way, much less by a stranger and someone who didn’t even know her rank. Her jaw clenched tightly. Though she knew it was likely someone who did not think about the consequences of their intrusion into her mind, she still took it with ill humor and did not respond in the same manner as Arun had.

=^= All hands this is the Captain. As you are no doubt aware we have unwittingly become the host to a small family of empathic life forms. They are being taken to sickbay until we can return them to their homes. As our mission is of uptmost importance this must take precedence . Medical and science staff will do everything in their power to make the life forms comfortable during their wait. In the mean time we are now back on course to Carraya. All crew members with telepathic or empathic abilities please report to ICU in fifteeen minutes time. Please do not attempt to contact the creatures in the meantime. All department heads report to the bridge immediately. That includes you Lieutenant Moreino.=^=

Rico looked to Haven, “You better head to ICU, you can keep an eye on these life forms while you are there. I’ll catch up with you later.” he told the Lieutenant, then moved to the nearest Turbo lift to head to the Bridge.

She nodded. “Yes sir.” and turned on her heels to head to the ICU.
