“Well by all means, just be sure she comes in more or less the same condition, or you owe me a new wife.” Jon said with a smirk and wink.

“Careful there, Mr. Reez,” Mel said with a grin.

Willow smiled, “I swear to you you’ll have her back in perfect condition. Perhaps slightly more caffeinated but I guarantee with an amazingly embarrassing blackmail worthy story.”

“Oh, this should be good…” Mel teased.

“Oh then by all means, have at her.” Jonathan said with a smirk as he walked past Mel giving her a kiss on her cheek. “I can step out if you two want alone time.” Jonathan suggested, thinking he could go over case notes while they talked.

Mel looked between her kids and her husband. “Do you mind taking the twins? I don’t think we’ll be too long,” she said, knowing that if she had the babies with her, she’d just fuss over them rather than focus on what her friend needed. Because, to her surprise, Willow felt like a friend to her and it was something she was in desperate need of.”

Willow smiled feeling some of the embarrassment ebbing as she stood with the couple. And yet…yet something else in her gave a dull ache for the easy happy way they related to one another. Every couple had issues she knew but it was points ike this she missed deeply. Willow tried to reign her emotions back in suddenly very aware she was in the presence of people who could sense them.

Odd fury ;)

“I can certainly watch them, you two have fun.” Jonathan said as he let the pair take off.

“I’ll see you in a bit.” Mel gave her husband and wink and then gestured for Willow to head out first.

“So, where shall we go? Worse comes to worse, we can always hide out on the triage deck. I bet no one would think to look for you there,” she said with a grin. She wasn’t unaware of the shift in Willow’s emotions, but without reading her friend’s mind, she had no context and she tried hard to not cross lines with people.
