“I’m thinking the hot tub.” Achilleas replied. “It just sounds nice to sit in boiling hot water and let the fatigue drain from my body.” He lightly took hand of Ria’s into his own and led the way deeper into the spa. It looked to be empty, so maybe they were one of the first to think about using it. “Looks like we may have the place to ourselves.” He said with a waggle of his eyebrows.

“So it seems,” Ria replied softly, smiling gently at Achilleas as she let him lead her towards one of the hot tubs. Once there, she let go of his hand and slipped quickly into the hot water. And not just up to her shoulders, but she submerged herself completely and stayed under the surface for several moments. As long as she could hold her breath. So when her head broke the surface, she was gasping a little for air. The smile on her face was a little wider, though, and she seemed a little more relaxed than she had just a moment ago.

Achilleas eased himself into the hot tub with a sigh as the hot water relaxed his muscles. He hadn’t even realized how tensely he was carrying himself lately, but now he was with his favorite person in a relaxing environment and his body was taking advantage of that. He grinned as Ria came back up for air and caught her breath. “Nothing quite like being in water, right? I’d love a tub in my quarters though I’d rather have a lot more room to swim. Do you think the ship would have a large pool around somewhere?”

“If so then I’d guess that it’s where the gym is, which is somewhere around here as well, isn’t it?” Ria replied thoughtfully as she snuggled close to Achilleas. The hot water felt wonderful and she felt a lot less exposed than she had after changing into the bathing suit. She knew that was silly, and still she couldn’t help feeling that way. “I never thought I’d ever serve on a ship that has a spa,” she mused softly, “It feels more like a cruise ship right now than like a Starfleet vessel.”

“It certainly is a wonderful thing. I can kind of understand if I look at it from a medical stand point if we were to consider housing patients who needed a long recovery time. But this is definitely a great way to relax for the crew after a long mission or time away from the starbase.” Achilleas said as he slipped an arm around Ria’s waist as she snuggled against him. He closed his eyes and scooted down to get his shoulders into the water with a sigh of contentment.

As he wrapped his arm around her, Achilleas might be able to feel her ribs a little more than the last time he had held her in his arms. And while Ria hoped that he wouldn’t, she was certain that he would and that he would get upset and worry. With all those thoughts and emotions running amok, she felt herself tense up a little again. Which of course wasn’t helping and only added to her discomfort. What a vicious circle to be caught in. Part of her actually thought of twisting out of his embrace, but thankfully she thought better of it. Instead she thought of what he had said earlier about her kissing him. So she climbed onto his lap, her lower legs on either side of his thighs, and leaned forward to kiss him.

Achilleas was stunned by the forwardness Ria was doing, not that he minded in the least, but they were still in a public place though it was currently just them. He hadn’t had the chance to react to her ribs being more prominent though he certainly noticed, he had spent quite a lot of time and effort getting to know every centimeter of her after all, but her actions had immediately shifted his focus to a breathtakingly beautiful woman currently straddling him in a hot tub. It was a matter of priorities really and since they there to relax and enjoy themselves, plus his brain immediately lost all ability to function, the matter of her loss in weight could be discussed at another time. With all such concerns tossed out of his mind, with a good deal of his self control, he reciprocated the kiss hungrily and full of need. His hands slowly worked their way up her back before supporting the back of her head.

Feeling herself relax a little again, Ria kissed him back in kind. With her arms wrapped around his neck, she leaned fully against Achilleas; hoping that she’d be able to stop thinking at least for a while and to lose herself in their kiss instead. Of course she knew that it wouldn’t make her worries go away. But they never did. So momentary oblivion was the best she could hope for. And that was okay.

Achilleas lost sense of where they were and all thoughts of public propriety left his mind. It was a good thing that they were still wearing swim wear, but it wouldn’t prove to be an obstacle for long. The dress Ria had been wearing before would have stymied him for quite a bit longer, which their first night together definitely proved. His hands on the back of her head went slowly down her neck before stopping at her shoulders and at the top of the bikini. His fingers deftly took the bikini straps and…

She had known, of course, where things would lead sooner or later when she had climbed onto his lap. She wasn’t stupid after all. So it came to no surprise when Achilleas started to pull at the straps of her bathing suit. She didn’t want to do more than to kiss and cuddle, maybe a little bit of teasing. They were in a public place after all and someone might walk in at any moment. But she also didn’t know how to say no, especially since she didn’t want to hurt Achilleas’ feelings. So while worrying and feeling somewhat uncomfortable, Ria didn’t do anything to stop Achilleas and just kept kissing him.

Before Achilleas pulled down the top of Ria’s bikini, he had a realization that metaphorically dumped cold water over all of his desire. He knew without a doubt that doing something further in a public place would not be what she wanted. Roleplaying that they could be caught while in reality being safe and secure was fine, but this was a line that he didn’t have her consent for nor should they actually cross. They were supposed to be responsible crew members after all. So through sheer force of will against the screaming need and desire from his body, he released his hold on the bikini straps, turned his face away from the kiss, and instead pulled Ria into a tight hug while he took large, belabored breaths to calm himself down.

Resting her head on his shoulder while leaning into his strong frame, Ria wanted to say ‘thank you’. But that would mean letting Achilleas know that she hadn’t wanted to go any further than kissing. Not here anyway. And she didn’t want him to beat himself up over something that hadn’t even happened. So instead she said the other thing that was on her mind. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have started this. Not here. It wasn’t fair,” she whispered, her voice heavy with guilt. Lifting her head off his shoulder, she placed her hand on his cheek and turned his face towards her. She placed a very brief and tender kiss on his lips and then asked, “Do you want to stay or should we go to one of our quarters?”

Achilleas smiled back softly and shook his head. “Please don’t be sorry. I feel bad for getting lost in my desire for you, but this is something that was likely to happen regardless of you coming onto me strongly. I think I will always want every bit of you when the opportunity arises.” He kissed Ria back just as tenderly. “I still want to give you a massage but we can do that just as easily at your quarters. Then if you still feel like you’ve wronged me, I’ll give you every opportunity to make it up to me. How does that sound?”

Even though they were all alone and thus no one would be able to overhear her either way, Ria moved her head so that her lips where brushing lightly against his ear and whispered very softly, “I do want to be with you. I’ve missed that as well. So going to my quarters sounds good.“ It was nice that they were actually able to go to her place as well now that she was no longer sharing quarters. Though despite what she had just said, Ria didn’t move off Achilleas’ lap. She just didn’t want to let go of him and the hot water did feel nice…

The whispered words in his ear nearly brought Achilleas to losing his reason again. A woman you love saying such sexy things would likely drive any man to feel that way, but luckily he didn’t go against his resolve to do what was right. He did reposition his lower half to ease the discomfort he was feeling there though. He didn’t exactly mind that Ria didn’t move away, as the proximity and hot water was delightful. “You’re not going to put all of your dress back on are you? I’m telling you right now that once we get to your quarters everything is coming off in under five minutes one way or the other.” He smiled as he half-joked about that.

Ria was silent for a moment, her chin resting on his shoulder. “Actually, I am. It’s pretty much all or nothing with that outfit and I’m sorry, but I’m not walking down the corridor in a bathing suit,” she said apologetically before adding pushing slightly backwards so that she could look into Achilleas eyes. An impish smile playing across her face as she continued, “And don’t forget, the nice thing about that outfit and the undergarments is that getting undressed isn’t necessary at all.” She winked and gave him a quick peck on his lips before finally slipping off his legs and rose to her feet. And while she loved feeling his hands on her skin, part of her hoped that he might like the idea of her keeping her dress and all on. Among other things, it might keep her from worrying over the weight she had lost. And that would be definitely beneficial in many regards.
