Alexis had met Cpt Taylor already. She’d sang her songs of epic adventures from Earth, while she had thought she was the Queen of Hearts and she had thought Alexis was someone named ‘the huntress’. Then, Alexis had sprayed her in the face with the antidote for the fungus. She’d then helped her get to sickbay without any further interruptions. Alexis, however, would not call that a proper check in. So that is why she now found herself outside the captain’s ready room, iso chip with her orders and record in hand, and pressing the chime.

“Come in!” called the voice of the captain from deep within her new office. She smiled as she saw the doctor.

“Ah, ” the red haired woman said with a slight chuckle. “Doctor Bonner, I wondered if I was going to get a chance to see you. I daresay the last time we met was a little unconventional wouldn’t you? Please come in, have a seat. Can I offer you a drink from the replicator?” she indicated a chair opposite her desk.

Alexis entered, a little unsure. She was sure that the Captain didn’t want to remember whatever the fungus had made her believe, and Alexis was very embarrassed by having to sing for the crew. She hoped they didn’t remember or ask her to join the choir or something. She had perfect pitch, but she was very uncomfortable being in front of people. This new post had put her in that position of having to talk to and order about others. In sickbay was one thing, but the administrative side, though Alexis would hold her own, made her feel queasy.

“Yes it was very unconventional. Fascinating from a psychological and science stand point, I’m sure, but I am very glad it is now contained and was never on the ship.” She thought about it. Coffee this late would keep her up all night. She smiled, a little sheepishly, the very young girl who had gone through medical school and the academy showing on her face. “Apple juice.”

Willow blushed slightly “oh believe me I wish I could hide those events for ever. I’m sure command must have had a great laugh at my expense when they read my report.” She smiled. “Good idea.” She got a peach ice tea for herself and returned to the desk.

“Well let’s start this one again shall we.” Reaching out a hand she offered it to the Doctor. “Welcome to the Ogawa Doctor Bonner, I’m Captain Willow Taylor. We are very excited to have you join us. “

She sipped her drink. “What do you think of the new ship?”
