Having been directed to their offices, Korak presented himself at the receptionists desk. This time he waited to be addressed. They should expect him, and their weren’t that many middle aged Klingons this end of the quadrant.

There was no one at the reception desk as Ever was supposed to be covering for the ensign assigned to the desk that morning. Of course, the CoP had become distracted and wondered away and at that moment, was nowhere to be seen. After several minutes, possibly a half hour, a dark haired woman with an olive complexion finally emerged from the office directly behind the reception desk. Her dark eyes, unmistakeably Betazoid, bore into the forehead of the Klingon for a few seconds before finally arriving at his face and eyes. A small, but warm smile appeared across her lips. Though she was nearing 40, Ever took great pride in her appearance and tried her best to starve off middle age.

“Can I help you,” she asked, knowing full well who the man was and what he wanted from her. In fact, she knew exactly what he had been thinking and the moment he had entered the department waiting room. If she had intentionally left him waiting or had been busy, her expression revealed nothing.

Patience was a hard wine skill, the Klingon would have patiently waited much longer. “ I don’t believe I need your professional services at the moment, Commander.” A bit of bemusement as he himself had been a commander once. “ Lieutenant Korak, reporting for duty, M’am.” The mind, tho not inaccessible was well disciplined in techniques that made his deeper thoughtful difficult to discern. Tho the fact he was comparing the woman before him to her service record was clearly discerned.
The massive Klingon was if anything more intimidating in person that his own service record had shown, the compassionate being before her was quite different on the inside.
