Casela stared strickly at the ceiling. The horror as she passed out with her as she wakes. She’s on Levi with a crazy doctor using her as a test dummy. And she’s offering her cake? “Can’t eat when I’m laying down.” Is the only thing she says. 6 hours? And an extra 12 kilograms? She could handle that. Metal ribs and sternum, sounded like something out of F’actar’s old comic books. 12 wasn’t too bed. She’d put in the extra hours, and adjust, she’d get her speed back. If they were metal did that mean if someone hit her it would break their hand and not her ribs? She found the thought slightly comical. She closes her eyes focusing on a meditative breathing technique before the panic takes over.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS

Casela laid on the biobed as the anestisia wore off. She had some slight tunnel vision, and that could be from the meds, or panic as the meds took effect or something else. And she felt like she was short of breath. She wasn’t willing to push her breaths though since she had just had surgery to repair her ribs. The captain is going to kill me. Manhattan is going to have a cow…and there is NO way I’m letting Ryder find out about this. I’ll never hear the end of it. Well I’ll never hear the end of it anyway. Why didn’t they just drop me off on some deserted planet with nothing but the clothes on my back? She considered briefly if she could convince T’Jal,Jake, and F’actar to come pull her out and discarded it. It would so much worse if T’Jal found out her current level of stupid.
“Hey Doc, am I supposed to be having tunnel vision and shortness of breath? Or is that from the weight of the metal?”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS/RTF

The doctor turned a page in her book, deciding to wait on something from the Counselor. “It’s not the weight of the metal, it’s the heavy amount of drugs and sedatives in your system. I told you it would take six hours to recover, I mean it will take six hours to recover. So lay yourself back in that bed and wait patiently for the narcotics to wear off before you have a repeat episode of the night you drank too much and chose to go to your room with two men rather than sickbay with the doctor.” Fey must be teasing based on the smirk she’s failing to hide with her book as she watches the Counselor struggle with the bed. “You can take a full breath, the metal was applied using a lathe or cold application so it would solidify more quickly. The dermal regenerator was used to seal the incision areas so you shouldn’t feel any pain or discomfort given the material was layered on only a few millimeters thick.” The doctor holds up an isolinear chip, for your viewing pleasure later. The entire operation.”

Casela thought they had resolved that issue. Being drunk really wasn’t a reason to go see the doctor. That was just pure stupidity....Casela groaned. The longer she was on Leviathan the more stupid she got. Name, Rank, Serial number. There had to be…She dozed off again briefly while the sedatives were still in her system. The next time she was coherent she kept her mouth shut and her eyes too. Where was her necklace? She wasn’t wearing it. Name. Rank. Serial number. What did she do with it? Did she loose it? Yes she lost it on the Triton. Ryder gave her a new one. Where was it? She had to take it off for surgery. Oh no..Name. Rank. Serial number…if she pretended to sleep more would the men in charge of this row boat leave her alone? Why was she so tired? Oh the sedative, that’s right, Fey told her that. Name. Rank. Serial number. Where was Ryder? Why wasn’t he there? Then panic at being sedated again. She needed to add that to her file. No general anesthesia. Had she been argumentative again? Where was her necklace?
She was sedated. Name, Rank, Serial number. The knives hurt, the shallow ones burned forever though. The deep slices weren’t that bad, the body numbed them from adrenaline and endorphins, eventually. If she stayed still, they stayed numb. Name, Rank, Serial number.

A short while later and Cobb marched back into sickbay and headed straight for Kastil.
“Your gift had the wrong recipient, Doctor,” he muttered to her, before glancing over to the area where Casela was recuperating. “Can she have visitors yet?” he added as a formality, although his tone suggested he was in no mood to be told to wait.

“I’m sorry, I was under the impression that Captain Manhattan was in charge of the RTF and thus responsible for the wellbeing of the team. Perhaps you know of a more responsible party? No matter, the Counselor should be fine in a few moments. I’ve fused her bones back together and reinforced them so it’ll be harder to break them again. However, I would recommend she stay away from large magnets or heavy electrical currents. One would be awkward, the other could potentially stop her heart and that would be bad.” The Doctor gestures toward Casela and moved aside to allow the Captain access. “Do please keep it reasonably lengthed, she is still a bit under the weather as she must adapt to the additional weight that is permanently attached to her skeleton.”

  • Doctor Fey Kastil

A more responsible party? He had his suspicions but had already jumped the gun once and had no desire to mark a second defendant with glitter.

However, as the CMO began to detail the repairs done to Synthi-er, his expression tested out alarm before settling on disbelief.
“By the gods, Doctor,” he sputtered, “Have you built me a Borg for a Counselor?”

Casela heard a male voice through the haze. He’s back again… She kept her breathing slow and light, as if still asleep. Let that mad man think the doctor over medicated her again. Name. Rank. Serial number. A woman’s voice? Deep but a woman. No the mad man had a male doctor…Casela listened, it sounded like a med bay, federation. She tried to move but she was confined to the bed. Her heart rate tried to spike but she refused to panic. She made her brain work. She heard the doctor, she assumed the doctor?, mention the use of magnets and electrical currents…torture?? At least no more knives. Maybe the current would close the wounds? In her sedative induced panic she mumbled, “Synthi-er, Ensign, 9058943.” She heard the heavy foot steps of a man and opened her eyes. If they were going to torture her some more, she was going to see it coming. But it was not the mad man. She was confused a moment and then…it was Cobb! Oh gods what had she done now???
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS

Seeing her stir, Cobb took gentle steps into the room, as if the impact of his boots against the floor could shatter her current fragility. So many questions had been locked, so many accusations loaded, on his journey between the RTF office and sickbay. But now he found himself gazing upon a very different woman to the one he had come to consider a friend and confidant. Gone was the tritanium exterior and exuberant confidence and in its place; fear, injury and pain.

Reaching out a hand, he allowed it to brush gently against her hair, then whispered “How are you feeling, lass?”
