Casela figured needed to get these reports done. Seriously senior staff should know better. She laughed darkly to herself. She was one to talk. Well if she had to go by the security office, she might as well up her phaser certification. It wasn’t due for 2 months, but why not. 2 birds, 1 stone and all that.

She walked into the security office. Looking for either Lt. Stone or En. Holt, or both. She looked at the on duty officer. “Hello ensign. I’m looking for Lt. Stone. I need her to complete my phaser re-certification. I’m also looking for En. Holt if she’s not available.” Casela handed the NE a PaDD with her weapons proficiency recert due dates.

The NE checked the PADD and handed her back. While most officers waited until last few days to get the re-certification done, it wasn’t that unusual to have it done sooner, when time permitted.

“Your in luck, ma’am. Lt Stone is on the firing range at the moment. I wouldn’t know where Ensign Holt is, he’s not on the same time shift as me.”

The NE motioned to the door on their right. “The firing range is right through there.” He walked up to the door and yelled inside. “Lt. Stone, someone’s here to see you.”

Stone was inside practising. The target she was shooting at was full of holes, a lot were in the centre or close, but there were also some on the outer circles.
