Doctor Fey goes into a lotus position, then folds herself in half. A few joints pop and she folds herself further so that she can go into a state of deep thought. “Therein lies the problem, we’re all Starfleet or civilians. Who we work for shouldn’t be relevant but for some reason, people are making it relevant. I would give the ‘can’t we all just get along’ speech, but no one would listen to it. They’ll just lift their phasers and chant their agency name like a war cry and pound their ego inflated chests, believing that they are actually here as more than fodder test subjects. I wish these agencies would do us all a favor and fire them so they can drop the fraternity and sorority games and do something more productive…like find a way to replenish the missing supplies that we had to leave behind.”

“That’s what I’m hoping to do, but subtly without the beating of the chests. It’s…exhausting. Holding hands for grown adults to teach them to get along. I’m not sure I’m doing a very good job, but I’m trying. And since I have to make house calls for most of the crew, it gets difficult.” In a very bad joke, “Maybe I should throw them all into a sparing ring together to work out their problems?” She chuckles without the humor, “I’m sorry. I have really bad humor. I wouldn’t do that.”

The doctor looked up at Synthi-er, “I take it family isn’t much of an option for you?”

Casela shook her head, “No it’s not. My parents are still alive, but....well I can’t go home yet. Too many loose ends to take care of until I can. Last time I got an update about them my father was really sick. I don’t know if he got better or not.”

Fey pauses for a long moment to consider things. “Actually, I think that is an excellent idea. It will give a clear view as to where the divides are and show everyone that medical is neutral. We’ll just find a reasonable M class planet, install a giant ring, then have a free for all match so everyone can get it out of their system. Medical will be exempt because we need to be there to be sure people don’t die. Everyone else can fight to their heart’s content and call it a day afterward. Then maybe, once all the aggression is out of their system, people will be willing to work together better.” The doctor chuckles, “Or things will get worse and everyone will instead try to murder each other in their sleep.”

“If we do that, I’ll make them fight till they all hate me. Then they can all get along and I’ll just bobby trap my door,” Casela laughs a little. “Some times getting the physical aggression out, works wonders, if done constructively.” She’d have to run the idea by Cobb. Of course the idea had worked wonders for her and Ryder, but she really hoped it wouldn’t end with the entire crew making out in the middle of the sparing ring. The idea made her laugh and then she quickly stopped because she didn’t want to explain to Fey.

The Doctor listened and paused after Cas told her about her father. “I can find out for you, I do have that authority. I can’t share the exact diagnosis but I can tell you the general health status of your family. Just let me know their names and locations and I can send out the requests via subspace channels. Means Hampton will likely hear about it but I don’t believe he would be so rude as to actually read messages about family member health status.”

Casela looked really sad. “I appreciate the offer. I’d rather not draw Hampton’s attention to my family. I’m okay with him hating me. He needs someone to focus his paranoia and anger at. But my parents…they think I’m MIA and after all this time considered KIA.” She forces a shrug, “If direct contact was safe for them, then I’d have gone home a long time ago. I have no idea if it is really necessary at this point, but until I’m no longer tied to my duties I can’t take the time to find out.”

The doctor stands up and stretches a bit, popping all the joints back into their proper place. “The offer will continue to stand should you change your mind. I am going to go get a shower and some breakfast before I have to report for duty in Sickbay.” The doctor heads for the archway to leave and stops for a moment to consider some things, “Have a nice day Casela, I’ll see you again I’m sure.”
