Posted by… suppressed (4) by the Post Ghost! 👻It was nothing but hoodoo and hogwash, Psychiatry. They might have well been reading tea leaves and taro cards. Was Tellek’s opinion. Not that Starfleet counselors wert pleasant dedicated people, it’s just the subject of their work was people, and people were crazy bu design.
Bog leaned on the door chime and waited for the door to open, tapping his right hoof impatiently....
Ensin Bog
Casela always loved messing with new crew. She’d seen Bog’s personnel file and new he’d move from enlisted to officer. She stood behind him, leaning against the bulk head, tapping her foot in rhythm with his. She let this go on for about 30 seconds when she stood up straight. “Welcome to Leviathan En. Bog.” She waved towards one of the other corridors. Her staff often had to work through meals at the moment so they had changed one of the side rooms into a mini mess hall. “It’s lunch time, let’s eat while we talk.” She entered the mini mess as they called it and ordered a fruit that looked like an apple, but the inside tasted like a peach. She sat down and took a bite, waiting for Bog to do the same.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
Looking at the Lieutenant balefully, but Impressed buy the shear audacity of the woman.
“Took your own sweet time.” Bog grumbled.Ordering a thick muddy looking drink and a tray of mixed whole fruit and vegetables Tellek joined the counselor at the table. “Well at least you have manners, I might even learn to like you.”
Ensin Bog
Casela raised her fruit in a type of salute. “High praise, indeed.” She took a bite and after she swallowed, “It was a long ride to get out to us. I won’t ask how it was, I’ve been on those transports. Let’s get to the point. Did you choose to come to Leviathan or were you ordered here?” The answer was significant because it determined how much she and her staff would have to watch him. Those who choose to come knew what they were getting into, those thrust here by happenstance were not as ready for the horrors of this ship.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
“I was recruited, but then again I didn’t give them an opportunity to make it an order.” Curbing his desire to start a rousing debate, but appreciating he understanding of proper decorum.” As to the Transport, your transporter operator was the first civilized person I have met in a month.”
Judging from the number and make up of the replacement personnel, and the fact I didn’t see any out going transfers I don’t think they gave me an accurate picture of just what kind of a sh… er, operation you have going on here.”
Ensin Bog
Casela waved her hand, indicating she didn’t care how he said it. “Your assessment would be correct, and down here, you can say it however you want. I can’t speak for the rest of the ship though.” Casela took another bite of her fruit. “I hope you handle conflict well,” it wasn’t a question but not a statement either. She sat quietly and waited.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSConflict? “I handle conflict quite well, M’am. It’s others who tend not to handle conflict with me well.” Taking a slurp of the steaming muddy liquid. “Should I expect conflict?” starting in on his plate with seemingly not a care for the counselors revelation.
Soon to be mud…
Casela shrugged, “On a normal Star Fleet vessel I would say no, but as I’m sure you saw on your transport, we have several different groups on board, and as a rule they work well within their own groups and not well with others. I tend to err on the side of preparedness and would be aware of the different groups and their ‘responsibilities.’” She took another bite. “I saw in your file you recently made a change from enlisted to officer. Are you content with the change?”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
“Not sure yet, The powers to be thought I needed to be an officer to perform my assigned duties here. Frankly I haven’t even worn the new off my pip.”
His ability to not work well wit others bordered on legendary, perhaps he would fit in well here…
Barbecue…
“Well I will offer my congratulations if it means anything to you.” Casela took the last bite of her fruit, leaving just the core still in her hand. “Since I don’t have your file yet, tell me your biggest weakness and your biggest strength as it applies to your duty station. If you want to talk personally then we’ll make another appointment. We’re here for fitness of duty, and your personal life is your own.” At least until it interferes with your ability to performs duties, she thought to herself.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
Strength? the woman was uncommonly direct for a counselor. “I am very good with machines, but other than Klingons not so much with people.” Perhaps that was an understatement. He had what had been described as ‘supernatural’ ability to jerry rig (sorry Brits) equipment to fit unusual purposes. But his ability to rub people the wrong way was almost it’s equal. The harder he tried the worse it was.

Casela nodded, on this ship, as they had seen many times already and they were barely out of space dock, they needed people goo with machines. “Well to your benefit we have several Klingon crew members on board. I’m sure you will all appreciate being able to share a decent conversation.” She turned slightly and with a small flick of her wrist tossed the fruit core into the re-processor. “Alright En, last question. Anything in your record I need to know about?”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
“In my record?” A distinct pause as he realized he had spoken his thoughts aloud. “ No M’am, nothing in my record I am aware of.” As he continued to peruse his own meal.
Casela nodded, “But there is something NOT in your record. Well as long as that something doesn’t interfere with your work, we can discuss that later, if you choose.”
“Question for you,” His gaze calm and direct. “Not an hour ago saw a man loose his arm, how bad is it?”
Bog
“Ah, you were there with Cooper, then?” She shook her head, “Still don’t know how it happened.” Her voice edged with frustration. “The RTF team is working on containing the thing that caused it. But be prepared for things like that to happen, frequently. Be cautious and report anything strange. And this is Leviathan, everything is strange.”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
Bog mulled over her statement. “ Just another day in the great beyond then.” He had seen some wild and woolly things during his service, but this sounded like another level of crazy.
