Icarus worked his way down the corridor to the ship’s main sickbay. He had already heard the rumors going around the ship about the unorthodox looking CMO. He chuckled at the rumors wondering a ship full of galactic explorers freak out about someone not looking ‘normal’.

He was not one to judge based on heresay so made sure to keep an open mind when meeting the CMO for the first time.

The doors to sickbay slid open to reveal a room that had to have come strait from someone’s nightmare. The inside of the Sickbay had been transformed! There were multiple tables each with bubbling chemicals, beakers and pipe organ music reminiscent of the phantom of the opera. The lights in here were dimmed and there was a light rolling fog on the floor that left the bio beds looking like small rafts on a lake of horrors.

The CIO’s eyes scanned across the room as he stood there in silence for a moment. “Zoinks!!!! Scooooob, where are you?’ he asked quietly.

The door whooshed closed as soon as the CIO was inside, causing the already dim lights to lose what exterior light there had been. The sound of giggling comes from the science experiment going on in the lab portion of the Sickbay, floating red circles move about in pairs as they flit from one set of beakers to another. A groan sounds from under the fog as a portion of it shifts, accompanied by the sound of something scraping the floor. It moves to the left, toward the red sprites giggling around the dangerous chemicals. A chill fills the air, a hand settles on the CIO’s right shoulder, the long bony fingers that seem impossibly long for the hand reach down his chest. A raspy but feminine voice speaks next to him, “I don’t know Shaggy, perhaps you should ask Ensign Khal. She is the only one I’ve seen wandering these halls with an actual dog.”
