“I thought, you might like to paint while you listen to the music.” Casela offered. She left Gen to decide what to do and moved to a table a little ways away. She wanted to be close for 2 reasons. The first that she wasn’t going to leave Gen alone yet, until they knew what to do for her. 2nd Gen seemed to stay very close to her, so she didn’t want her to feel that Casela had left her, but have the semblance of privacy while she worked. But Casela wanted to be far enough away to work on her search of the Star Fleet database. The girl took the socks and carefully ran her hands over them. Her fingers rubbing along the material. Carefully she pulled them on and flexed her toes in the socks. Then as if captivated by the paints be and enthralled with mixing paints, she began to paint on the set up canvas seemingly content.
She sat down and entered several name into the data base: Kenny (or other variations) McCallister and Annie (and other variations) McCallister, Zach (or Zachary/Zacharias/or other variations) McCallister, Genesis McCallister, Orin McCallister
Next Casela did a search for ships that traveled into any area named or listed as the “unknown” and storms in space. She cross referenced those with the names of Gen’s family.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
The computer worked for a few minutes and the combination of names with the family name McCallister sent back a hit in the starfleet archives. Commander Kenneth McCallister - Executive officer USS Phantom, his wife Doctor Anna McCallisater (neé Jones) - Assistant Chief Medical Officer USS Phantom. Their children Cadet Zachary Kenneth McCallister aged 16, adopted son Orion Jackson McCallister aged 8 and their daughter Genesis Laurie McCallister aged 11. All last on the USS phantom. The ship was last sent to investigate a distress call from near Romulan space 5 years ago. The record showed that they had reported encountering some sort of storm and then nothing. The exact nature was unknown as no records had been recovered. The ship was lost with all hands and no trace found. Starfleet command decided that it had been a warp core breach and the young girl, currently painting black and dark blue clouds onto the canvas, and her family were declared KIA. A plaque was commissioned in the Phantom’s honour at star-fleet command.
Gen
Casela glanced at the young girl across the room to the file. She double checked the photos in the files against Gen now. They matched. So either something anomalys happened to Gen, or some anomaly took her form. She was going to get her to sickbay when she finished with her painting and then she was going to have to talk to the Captain. She was sure that their CSO GLaDOS would want to examine Gen. Casela sighed, she was going to have to trust they knew what they were doing. Several people had come on board and had not had their psych evals yet. She as going to remedy that very soon. But once the staff meeting was done she had to figure out what was wrong with the KAI-9 too.
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSGen continued to paint, a swirrlimg mass of dark blues and shadowy blacks, it was of nothing in particular but if someone was looking closely at it they would see small pinpricks of yellow and white. Stars perhaps. And in the center two red points. (https://imgur.com/DrUNwlI) She stepped back, her fingers covered in paint after having given up with the use of the brush.
Gen
Having transferred the information to a PaDD, Casela walked back over to Gen. She sat down next to the girl and watched her finish her painting. It looked like a terrible storm to her. “Gen, our doctor, Doc Fey, is going to come down and see you soon. We just want to make sure you are healthy, and that I can take good care of you. She looks a little different. But she is a wonderful doctor and I like her very much.”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNSGen looked over at the woman as she spoke. ”It doesn’t matter what people look like on the outside.” she said quietly. ”Are we going to sickbay?” She asked seemingly as if she liked the notion of that.
Gen
Doctor Fey enters the Counseling Deck and lumbers out of the turbolift, casually approaching the Counselor and the Child. “I seem to be here for two reasons today, to conduct a full medical examination of the mystery child and have my evaluation done.” She pulls a cart along with a full complement of testing equipment that would usually be in Sickbay. “Where shall we get started today?”
- Doctor Fey Kastil
Casela smiles, “Hey Doc! Well Gen here is really enjoying painting. But you have your pick of anywhere on the cousneling deck. It’s quiet down here today. I was just getting ready to tell Gen that you were coming here, so we wouldn’t have to go past Dave again. But, I think she might like to visit your domain sometime soon.” Casela looks at Gen having seen her facial expression at the idea of getting to go to sickbay.
Gen gave that same ghost of a smile. Apparently she did like that idea.
“I can probably conduct your eval while I watch. We can get any further questions after you are done. Will that work?”
Lt. Synthi-er, CNS
Doctor Kastil smiles softly at the child, “Sounds perfect, so to inform you because I don’t have your medical records or any idea on how to obtain them, we’ll have to do a full run of tests, blood work, and other things in order to generate some for you okay? Can you tell me your full name, Gen?”
Gen watched the doctor carefully. ”Genesis Laurie McCallister” she said quietly after a few moments of thought.
Doctor Kastil made the entry into the small computer terminal on the cart, the beginnings of the child’s medical records. “Good good, that’s a very pretty name. Can you tell me how old you are?” The doctor paid close attention to the mannerisms of the child, wanting to see if she was comfortable or trying to hide something.
- Doctor Fey Kastil
Again, this question took a moment, as if she wasn’t sure or was counting in her head. ”16…im 16.” she said finally seeming mildly confused by this. She looked at her hands and flexed her fingers as if just noticing how big they were.
The medical file from the counsellors search would be accessible should either officer decide to access or transfer it.
Gen
Casela’s console was still up, so she transferred the file to an empty PaDD and handed it to Doc Fey to look at.
