The Doctor wasn’t sure what to do, the ship had left early and so many people still needed their physical exams done. She understood that her…apearance…bothered a lot of them, but this was no excuse to not do her job. The Captain had just completed his own exam so she decided it was time to go looking for the XO, maybe get her own check-in done while conducting his exam. Settled on her course of action, she picked up a mobile medkit and headed for the XO’s quarters. Given the time, he would be done with his shift, so unless he was doing something else, he would be in his room.

Many of the crew were still uncomfortable around her making the trip to his room equally easy and depressing seeing everyone suddenly turn and go a different direction or try to give her a wider berth. Either way, she didn’t let it bother her today while she focused on making her way to the XO’s suite. Standing outside his door she used a single long finger to press the chime to request access.

Ryder was dressed down, a medical kit had been laid out on the table infront of him with the dermal reginerator and some mild pain stimulants also. He sighed the noise of the door beating down on his already sore head having gone ten round with Casela a few days ago. Mostly the bruising, the open wounds and broken bones had repaired but he want as good as a trained doctor when it came to fixing himself, his nose was still off center. “Come in” He called out finally pulling a top over his head to hide the battered and bruised body.

  • Commander Ryder, XO

Something had a momentary malfunction, the light above the door went out and the door only opened a small portion of the way. An animalistic groan sounded from the other side of the door and a few moments later several impossibly long fingers find their way through to start prying the door open. Standing in the doorway is something tall, mostly made of bone and sinew with limbs that were disproportionate to her body. The bones on her face stood out in sharp angles and the light of the hallway outside cast an eerie light from behind her. Her red-orange eyes met the eyes of Commander Ryder and held for a long moment. “Good evening Commander, I am Doctor Fey Kastil, your Chief Med-i-cal…why do you have a dermal regenerator medical kit?”

  • Doctor Fey Kastil

Ryder would consider himself a brave man, he had four lifetimes worth of memories and experiences but this was the first time he thought he was about to come face to face with his maker, demons or Devils or Lucifer was something of Human religious talk but in that one moment he allowed himself to entertain the notion that demand were real. Until it spoke that was.

“Doctor” Breathed Ryder a sigh of relief ebbing and flowing though his body. “You know how to make an entrance, damned door it’s been doing that all day I think the refit is messing with a number of systems.

Doctor Kastil looked at the door as she came into the room. “Unfortunately, with the current work load on Engineering, it will likely be a-” The Doctor cut herself off and turned sharply back to face the commander. “Hey now, don’t change the subject. What happened to you? Why didn’t you report to sickbay or better yet why didn’t you call Security? Who else will I need to pay a visit to?” The Doctor eyes the commander for a moment, visually inspecting the injuries on the commander. “Are you drunk?”

  • Doctor Fey Kastil

He waved the accusation of being drunk away, “Oh I wish I was it may numb the pain but if you happen to know the other person is in a lot better shape her skills with a dermal regenerator far outmatch mine as for your other questions I’m the executive Officer I have a reputation to uphold and walking into sickbay bloodied and bruised doesn’t help.” He pointed to his rib cage “At least I managed to repair the broken ribs but I think my Regenerator is out of battery.” He gave the doctor a cheeky grin which turned into a grimace as his lip split again.

  • Commander Ryder, XO

Fey gives the Commander a disappointed look, clearly unsatisfied with his reasons for not going to Sickbay. “With all due respect, your pride is no reason to avoid medical especially considering you are still incomplete for your physical. If we’re talking ego then I have a number of female staff that would be more than happy to take off your shirt to examine your injuries. Even a few male staff that may be willing should you have desired that. If it was your Pride as a Starfleet officer, then you wouldn’t have gotten into a fight in the first place. Instead, we settle into this situation where people see me going into your quarters at night. You know the rumors that will generate on a ship of this size. I wouldn’t be surprised if you report for your bridge duty tomorrow to get congratulations from the Captain.”

The Doctor laid out her medical kit and pulled out a fresh dermal regenerator. “It would have been significantly easier if you had just come to Sickbay for your physical.”

  • Doctor Fey Kastil

“I was under the impression I didn’t require one, I have been on board since my last before the ship changed hands between Starfleet and the RTF” He explained taking off his shirt, there was no pint in arguing or shyness now. “But I suppose you’re the Doctor. I’ll try to restrain myself in future fights, though I don’t think that will be an issue we worked out our difference” ‘And then some’ he thought as the image of Casela flooded his mind.

  • Commander Ryder, XO

Doctor Fey paused for a moment, then looked at the Commander with an expression of complete confusion. “Who was the previous Chief Medical Officer and why did they take the records database with them? You’re right, you shouldn’t require a new physical unless you left the ship for an extended leave before reboarding. I’m assuming that you didn’t. Unfortunately, the medical records database was gone and every time I requested a new one from Starfleet I got either a garbled mess or records that were sadly out of date.” More trouble and inconvenience for this ship, why does it feel like everything wants this ship to fail at what it is doing. Either way, the doctor continued her scan and subsequent repair of the damages to the Commander from his mysterious fight. “Any allergies or medications I should know about? Family history of anything? A sudden desire to submit to experimentation?”
