Lab 3 - Looking Over Bones
Posted by Crewman Jessie Polizzi (Novel Researcher) in Lab 3 - Looking Over Bones
SNIPUnaware of their ‘fly on the wall’ listening to their conversation Ryder answered her question with the one he had been cautiously working towards. “I am aware of your medical diagnosis of psychosomatic pain, centralised to your heart.” He paused allowing for her to swallow the information that he had gotten to know her a little better than most.
“I wanted to extend my aid in helping you, understand your pain and why it may be happening. My previous host Sabel has felt with something similar whilst in the Trill Science Academy which if I am understanding his memories correctly explain that such pains usually occur after a physically or mentally traumatic experience, sometimes referred to as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD for short. I jist want you to know you’re not alone on this ship. “

Taking notice of Jessie first, the caitian smirked and swiped something quickly with her tail, setting it down beside her feet, concealed from the crewman’s sight. For any observant person, the swiped object would have resembled a small Tribble enclosure.
“Very well, just be careful. Most of them like to bite strangers”
She then turned her attention back at Ryder, taking in everything he said. She wasn’t too sure how to process the information… He was being rather intrusive, but had good intentions. Misana tried everything in her power not to think back at those events, though it was always easier said than done.
“Thank you, and yes… Though I’d like to spare you the gory details if that’s okay? I don’t quite like dragging up the past”

He could almost feel her worry and see the pain the request and subsequently, the event had caused such a traumatic health issue so he nodded accepting the compromise. “I won’t ask you to divulge anything you do not feel comfortable with telling me, I am you XO but also a friend if you need one. Just don’t hesitate to approach me, I know we have counselors for this sort of thing but sometimes I find it easier to speak to someone whos going to listen and not extract deep and weird meanings.” Ryder brought his hand to her shoulder, squeezed it reassuringly, and let go again with a nod to further solidify his honest intentions.

She smiled warmly, admittedly the grip on her shoulder made her panic slightly, but she breathed in and remembered that it was a friendly sign.
“Thank you, I should go back to working now… This Andorian is giving me some grief”
She chuckled lightly and pointed her head towards the assembled skeleton that was on the table.
“I realise I don’t have the technology to identify the bodies… Any chance you could rectify this situation? I’d like to give a face and a name to the bones”
~ Misana Kahl, Archeology + Anthropology
Ryder Looked to the set of bones on the table and frowned at it, “You can send requirements to Engineering. CC me in so I am still in the loop just dont do ask for anything too crazy, unfortunately, our engineering department is not an Argos catalog”
Jessie watched the exchange between the two officers as she finished sweeping the lab. Who dated who was known of her business she reckoned. Since all the animals were feed, cages cleaned and the lab was pretty much spotless, the crewman was filling like she was in the middle of something she aught not be watching. Without so much as a ‘by your leave’, Jessie slid silently out of the room and on to the next lab and science offices. Her work seemed never ending.

Stepping back he looked and his attention was caught momentarily but the crewman cleaning quietly in the room however before he could say anything she was gone. “I will leave you to your bones” He chuckled, “I think that’s a fitting nickname too” He winked before unfolding his arms and going to leave in the direction the crewman had left, in the opposite lab. Ryder made it his duty to meet as many of the souls he could during their voyage.
“Crewman” Ryder called out having just left Bones behind him to tend to her duties. “A moment?” Added the Trill officer finally closing the gap between them, though he left a respectable space between them.
